This used to be a place where it was fun every single day, where the main topic was a show that was set in a familiar fantastic future where folk hard-scrabbled out a living in a 'Verse that was similar to ours -in that we are just as likely to experience the same entropy and ironic jack-booted thuggery from our governments as our celebrated characters did.

Sadly, reality exists, and it turns out the creator of this fine show was just another hypocrite who clearly respects women and sees equality as an unalienable right, but has no problem using his position to go about porking half the actresses he wanted to employ. I can only hope they were all there mostly willingly. I doubt he meant to be another toxic creep, but who really knows??

So, it should probably come as little surprise our own quaint little fandom has also attracted several royally broken ignorant jerks who really can't be in adult relationships and spend vast blocks of time whining about things women say as a perverted coping mechanism or outlet for their their own personally unrecognized inadequacies.

I don't know what goes wrong with some people.

I would say ignore them and move on, but I don't think it helps. Argue with them and it just entrenches their asinine thoughts and behaviors, don't argue with them and you might as well give them carte blanche to continue trying to attract other knuckle-draggers... And when they get together dumb shit happens....

But ultimately, it's up to you. Free speech is equal parts GREAT and SUCK.

I should also say I'm sure someone will be along to post things I have said in the past, but you should also know that there are actual Fascist-Supporting-Dyed-In-The-Wool-Commies on another section of this board, and I shamelessly and mercilessly troll them.

This is what the internet IS these days. Avoiding landmines or deliberately stomping on them, lol.

I try to enjoy the work of actors/tresses/directors/musicians, etc...I don't need to know their political bent, listen to their rants, etc...and their personal life...well for the most part, when it comes to hollywood...I sadly assume moral turpitude.
that said..the reason I stopped by on this thread was that it brought a smile to my face cause your avatar is of Morena...and while I won't go into the details, I recalled watching her at the season 1 wrap party...I really could care less about Homeland, but at the time I still saw her as "one of our Firefly crew"...so while I left her alone and did not pursue the fan thing (I never let my team do that with the celebs we work) I couldn't help but notice two things..one, she had been working hard to build herself a great set of legs! and she was all but clinging to the director...it really looked like she was in total suck up mode in hopes that the newly announced season2 would include her in it.

my attention was soon to be drawn away as Claire had grabbed a chair and was proceeding to do a chair/lap style dance for the boys playing in the makeshift band..have never seen Claire as a "hotty" but brother she was puttin it on that night...one of the show's behind the scense gal was busy behind the scenes handing out all manner of little pills to some of the folks there..it's amazing what all you can observe from behind the mix console of your audio rig....so..yeah, I'm sorry but I typically get what I expect from our celebs who work and live in the industry..on All sides...be it producer/director, or actor

If I boycotted entertainers based on their politics I'd be left pretty much alone to entertain myself (and that wouldn't be pretty). Yes, although the most extreme and most outspoken in Hollywood are usually not watched by me, they nonetheless have occasionally done some brilliant work during their careers and I'll watch it because the work is more important than the politics. Guess that makes me somewhat of a hypocrite considering how much I loathe and detest so many of them.

Last I saw it was just his ex-wife making the accusations and there's more than a little chance of her being vindictive. So, not exactly an impartial observer. Until I hear otherwise I'm not going to assume he did anything over and above infidelity.

I was just not on board with betting his catches weren't 100% consensual. Until someone comes forward saying as much I'm not going to assume it.

Since Harvey Weinstein's trial recently began I've noticed that almost every movie I watch has him as the producer. Even though the prosecutor's opening statement against him was a scathing indictment detailing decades of systematic predatory sexual abuse, I suspect that the actual number of victims is much, much higher. First witness today, actress Annabella Sciorra, gave testimony how Weinstein brutally attacked and raped her after he had driven her home. Despite all this really sick shit coming out, nothing deters these Hollywood degenerates and druggies from dressing up and waving to the morons in the bleachers at their "award" shows. Shame on all of them! I've got a bunch of new award categories they should recognize, but why even list them. This crap has been going on in Hollywood since movie making began.
