A while back I posted wondering if anyone had seen StarHunter, a Can-Brit sci-fi television series that I don't believe ever aired in the states. I didn't get much response and wasn't terribly surprised as the show seems to have had very limited success (I believe they're stalled on season 2 hoping - ummm - for a film). Today I found their board - it's like a weird alternative universe to this one. Not the people just the similarities. And the shows have similarities too which I won't go into here. Anyway, I've made my "first contact" in hopes of recruiting some of their 357 registered users to at least take a look at Firefly. Actually... if you search on "Firefly" you'll see that I'm not the first to mention FF. You'll also notice there's some interesting posts comparing the 2 shows.

I don't like Firefly being compared to Starhunter, as I do not like Starhunter at all, in fact i think it sucks. I don't really see how you could compare the two, they're nothing alike. And there's no way Joss got inspired by Starhunter to make Firefly, because I think Joss has been brewing Firefly in his mind for years and years, and many years.

Please don't read my "similarities" comment in any way as a form of trumpeting StarHunter. "Sucks?" In a straight comparison of the shows I can see where a stern critic would come to that conclusion, and I may arrive there myself once I see more than 2 episodes. I'm just trying to be open to the possiblity - a lot of effort and sacrifice goes into even the lamest TV production.
Also, I'm not going to go to their board and dis' their show as a way of getting those people to see Firefly. They're the lucky ones really - seeing SH first and then getting to see FF?! My comments there were more of a, "hey how's it going, nice day eh? That's a nice tie, where'd you get it?" Like I said, first contact - if it gets people to see FF they’ll draw their own conclusions about the shows.

I'd like to be king of all Londinum and wear a shiny hat.

I grew up 50 miles from the Canadian boarder and hated it! However, I miss all the great BBC stuff that we used to watch on TV. We only had three channels but one was Regina and so I was exposed to all the great BBC TV early on. It's one of the few things I miss about Glasgow, MT....

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Nice work PizmoBeach. Hopefully we will get some more converts out of your efforts.

Keep us informed.
