Differences in DVD packaging

1st off, I have the US Region1 DVD`s which comes as 4 seperate DVD discs packaged seperately in 4 slimline cases with a slp over box for the 4 discs.

Disc 1 features Captain `Mal` on the front & on the reverse (inside) left side features `Serenity` in space with an Earth-like planet in the bottom left & an orange moon.

Disc 2 features Sherpherd `Book` on the front & on the reverse (inside) left side features `Serenity` in space with Jupiter & Mars planets both featured

Disc 3 features `Jayne`on the front & on the reverse (inside) left side features `Serenity` in space with another planet & another orange moon

& Disc 4 features `Zoe` on the front & on the reverse (inside) left side features `Serenity` in space with another couple of `moons` with a small planet in the top left.

I haven`t studied the UK DVD release too closely, but the main difference seams to be that all the discs are enclosed in a big single DVD case, don`t know if there is any litterature to go with it or what the inside artwork looks like.

Does someone want to do a comparison - I intend tobuy myself a UK release at some stage but it`s not high on the priorities right now.

The UK release is indeed one DVD box with all four discs inside.

The outer case at the front has Serenity and a planet behind her at the top right hand side with the crew below. The back of the case has a series of pictures from the series down the left the hand side (mostly from Ariel)and Serenity below those, with a quote from the New york Post on the right, and then a summary of the show below.

The first disc has Mal, the second has Book, the third has Jayne and the fourth has Zoe. All with a red backdrop.

It has an eight page leaflet inside, Mal on the front and the inside has a disc by disc breakdown, and scene selection lists, the backdrop is large corner of moon in bottom left hand corner and a smaller full moon in the top right, there are slight variations on each page but not too much, The outside back cover has a planet or moon ground shot, in the top left corner one large moon, with a second moon behind with rings round it, and a few small plantet or moons dotted around. And theres a second leaflet advertsing Buffy and Angel DVD's.

I think that red moon in the background pictures is actually a picture of Mars.

I think you arte on about the discs themselves & not the packaging

One of them is Mars for sure but the others don`t look it - the colouring may well be missleading. Or maybe it`s just the angles.

Packaging on Disc 2 has Mars for definite

Greetings from Down Under - I believe we are in Region 4???
Anyway, my Firefly set has come in 2 cases (2 discs to a case), with the characters initially mentioned each on one side of a case.
i'd bring it out to describe in detail, but I have lent it to a browncoat-to-be!
