PARSLIP

Let me first start by saying that I am not a Joss fan. While Buffy and Angel are decent shows, and I watch them occasionally, I am not terribly interested in either of them. So when a friend handed me the DVD collection of Firefly and told me it was written by the guy who made Buffy, I rolled my eyes and tossed it on a shelf. It sat there for quite a while, until a few days ago when I was sick. I was bored and decided to pop this in and hopefully be entertained.

I was more then entertained. I was floored. I could not stop watching, and so I stayed glued to the tv for all 14 episodes (taking a break to go to sleep I believe). I am a fan of both sci-fi and westerns, so perhaps that is why I like it. All I know is, this is by far the best sci-fi tv series I have ever seen. I'm glad I didn't notice it during the apparent Fox fiasco, and was able to watch it from beginning to end the way it was intended. I was greatly disappointed when the last episode came and went with no finalization, no ending. I was so upset, in fact, that I came to the internet to do some research.

I'm glad to hear that a movie is being made. SO is my girlfriend (who watched the series with me and enjoyed it just as much), and we both plan on seeing it, and dragging everyone we know as well.

I can only hope that Fox will get its head out of its hind quarters and get this series going again. I will do my part to get my friends and family to watch the series and the upcoming movie. Just thought I would stop by and say that knowledge of this gem is spreading, and you can add at least 3 more fans to the list of supporters (I'm positive all of my close friends and much of my family will like Firefly, so probably add 20+ to that list). I pray that this movie is successful, I'm positive it will be every bit as good as the series.

Keep up the good work, my fellow fans.

Welcome, Parslip, and glad always to hear a new voice. Spend your money on Serenity and let's see if we can't pull off a miracle and be Big Damn Heroes every one!

Dip your toes into the Blue Sun Room and see why no ending might not be such a bad thing. It's the fan fiction forum...and a damn fine place!

So what's the favorite episode so far?

I felt the exact same way. I saw Firefly for the first time a few months ago, and halfway through OiS I was swearing at the idiot f*x executives who had cut this show off when there were so many stories, revelations, and arcs to be told. I knew that there was a movie coming, but a movie can't possibly address everything that needed to be addressed. Although I'll take a movie over nothing any day.

So anyway, welcome to the board! Make yourself at home.

Packer fans welcome.
All others tolerated.

I dropped the good word on my gaming guild's forum, we've got about 1500 registered members so hopefully a few of them will notice and try this out. Got a few responses already, everyone so far is already a fan and is waiting for the movie, so no new recruits yet.

Now that you love Firefly you need to sit down and watch Buffy/Angel from the start, in order ;)

I forced my friend to watch the pilot episode and then it eventually tured out that she really liked it. She then begged me to watch "The Train Job". Eventually we ended up watching up to "Our Mrs Reynolds". Though she did want everyone to die...

I am not a big enough fan of cheese for that ;-) Buffy/Angel never got my attention enough, though I've watched several episodes. I did like the Buffy musical, however, it was entertaining.
