I just finished watched the DVD set for Wonderfalls. Maybe it has been mentioned before, but it suprised me. Jewel Staite, plays Eric's cheating wife Heidi.

Finishing the DVD left me wanting more. Why are the good shows always cancelled

Because we are very bad people and are suppose to suffer such pains. That must be the reason.

(my DVD should be coming in the mail in the next couple of days )

Yup, pretty astounding. Heidi is as loathsome as Kaylee is adorable. Kudos to Jewel!

I've been having a cancelled-show festival the last couple weeks: Firefly, Wonderfalls, Greg the Bunny. Sigh. I wouldn't do this to myself, but they're all awesome, each in its own way. Just watched "Cocktail Bunny" again today.

There was talk that the original music from the TV cut wasn't making it to the DVD's and would be replaced with some techno crap. Has it?

Some of Wonderfalls' music had to be replaced with stuff they could get cheaper, yes. IMO it was not bad - I wouldn't have noticed the difference if it wasn't pointed out to me, but then again the music isn't what had caught my attention. If the original soundtrack was important to you, see if you can rent the discs first - or maybe someone has made a list of the substitutions somewhere.

You should get hold of the mighty Ben Edlund's live action version of The Tick as its well worth the investment - another cancelled TV show from Fox! It features an improbably lucky hero called The Immortal in one episode which made me wonder if they used him as the basis for The Immortal in Angel's episode in season 5.

I have it - thanks for reminding me to put it on my masochistic viewing list! Heh.

IIRC the live-action Tick show also employed one of the guys that did Venture Brothers - which seems to be teetering on the brink of cancellation itself. I haven't checked for awhile on that, maybe they did finally commit to a second season. (Not Fox, but it'd be just as wrong IMO if it got cancelled.)

I'm not done with the set yet, so no spoilers if you can.

I'm just noticing the odd coincidence of Jewel's characters on both Firefly and Wonderfalls being introduced in a sexually compromising position...

Huh.
