Baldly? Are you sure about that one? I rather like my hair.

Anyhoo...

I believe Ebo was writing a song, MG was catching up with the thread and now we moved again, Cozen was getting astral, PR is still MIA, Grey was finishing up the engines, well, I can't remember what everyone was doing....

I know I was in the arms of Static, dancing the night away.

So what did you think of my idea of a band called "Two Heels And An English Muffin"?

Oh yeah, cozen's a constellation now.
Quote:

*cozen is enveloped by an ethereal wave. He is transformed into a group of blinding stars, which twirl at maddening velocities, then speed off beyond Grey's trebuchet out into space. Within moments, cozen becomes a new constellation, invisible to the naked human eye, having alighted at his new home on the Perseus Arm*

Hey coz, as long as you're up there, could you say hi to my cows for me? They're in Orion's Belt. Star is in the middle, Starlight is on the right, and Grasshopper and Beauty are sharing the one on the left. I'd like them to know that I'm still thinking of them. (It's a long story as to why I have cows assigned to constellations.)

Or maybe since we have this shiny starship we could just swing by?

The engines were done some time ago. Last thing I finished was the shields and weapons. I'm chillin' in my gunnery chair on the bridge right now.

Here's an odd question. Who's the captain of this beast?

Ebo's been captain for ages. She's our leader...huh, how did...when we attacked...three switches...yes, Ebo is our captain.
edited for posterity: She did start the original thread.

TRM is first officer, Grey (that'd be you) is the chief engineer, looks like Static (that'd be the sexy guy in the flightsuit) is the pilot, twg (that'd be me) is the Jack O'Staves (first lieutenant) and official confuser, PR (currently MIA) was our telepath, Zoid is the bartender, SW is our strategist, Rat is TRM's father, I'm not sure what Mai's official duties are, or MG, Maniac is kinda like Q, the inventor not the being. SHW teaches dance and writes songs. Um...I can't remember, where did I put the crew manifest...I know Mantichorus is my long lost brother.

Mal is our Mistress Most High, hail Mal!

THEREALME

* A spot of light appears in mid-air over the couch in the common room. It expands to form a ring of fire surrounding a dark void. From this hole in reality lunge a multitude of slimy purple tentacles which wave and whip around. Wrapped securely in some of these tentacles is The Real Me. *

Thanks, Teggy. Here will be fine.

* The tentacles unwrap from around The Real Me and he drops a few feet to land on the couch. *

Oooof!

* Above the couch, a strange gurgling sound comes from the hole in reality. Then the tentacles retract into the hole, and it shrinks back down to a point of light, which disappears. *

* The Real Me rights himself on the couch. He is covered by purple slime. In each hand, he grips a large container by its handle. He stands and sets the containers down beside him. The Real Me then takes off his glasses and tries to clean them, a task made difficult by having no scrap of cloth unsoaked by purple goo. With a sigh, he replaces the smudged glasses on his face and adjusts them. Then he frowns, takes them off entirely, and sticks them in his shirt pocket. With the other hand, he slicks back his hair to keep it out of his eyes. *

Ebo Golem! Come here and clean this up, please. Bring a mop, and lots of paper towels.

* The Real Me turns to address the crowd. *

Hello everyone! I have returned from another trek across the multiple realities, where I have obtained some more 7-packs of bottled pepsimilk and several tubs of ice cream from the purple dimension!

ThatWeirdGirl! Uh…

* Without his glasses, The Real Me is forced to squint. *

Wow! That’s some red dress!

Anyway, Inola Teg says hello to you. Uh, at least, I THINK so.

See, I’m not entirely sure. It was difficult for me to understand the thoughts she impressed upon my mind without Ebonezer to act as interpreter. In any case, she was thinking fondly of you, and not, I believe, in the form of a tasty snack.

Oh, and M&Ms are a big hit in the purple dimension, except, of course, that they would like to see some purple ones.

Now, if you will all excuse me, I am in desperate need of a shower and a change of clothes.

* But The Real Me pauses long enough to read the last several posts, from this and the previous thread. *

Ah, Ebonezer in clothes. Or at least in drapery. Or at least… a tutu??? Good! Yes, Ebo, I am familiar with “drama class” and I know what can go on. However, please kindly allow ThatWeirdGirl and myself to pretend otherwise.

Say, ThatWeridGirl, I suspect that the most appropriate tune to use for the Sereni-TREE theme song is the one from Gilligan’s Island. You seem to be an expert on old theme songs. Can you work us into that one? “A three hour tour… A three hour tour…”

MontanaGirl, when our improbable fantasy science fell apart due to too much real physics invading the thread, the dimensional folding that I set up collapsed. That stuck all of your stuff into the corresponding room in the West Wing, the only remaining one. Your stuff is still there, I think, but you can easily move it to the South Wing if you like. Ask the Ebo Golem for help.

Oh, hi Rat! Uh, I mean, “Dad”. Don’t worry, I’m back. Sheesh! You are SO over-protective! I was just off with some friends, hopping across a few dimensions.

Hmmmm…. Say, Rat, sometime you will have to explain to me how you can be my father when I am two cycles of the Rat older than you.

Wow! Cozen performed a gentlemanly act, and the Universe responded by disintegrating him! I suppose that it WAS a rather big strain for it to accommodate. Who would have guessed? Hmmm… Since I’m still here, I suppose that we weren’t a pair of opposite anti-matter twins after all.

Uh, Jake7?

* The Real Me fumbles in the pocket of his jacket, to retrieve a small spherical object, which he displays. *

Jake7, look! I found a spare cue ball. We can finally get on with our game.

* Puzzled, The Real Me stares at the cue ball, which is of a distinctly purple tinge. *

Huh. I guess all this purple slime stained it.

* Stares at own purple hands. Finds mirror and stares at purple face. Runs fingers through purple hair. Gulps. *

I’ll be getting that shower, now!

* The Real Me comes from his room, freshly showered and in a new change of clothes. His skin and hair are still purple, but at least his glasses are wiped clean. He goes over to the pool table and racks up the balls. He sets the purple cue ball down on the table. Then he selects a cue. *

Yes, Mai, our seemingly endless series of threads is getting rather confusing. By my count, this is the fourteenth in the direct succession of clubhouse threads.

That is why I have undertaken the task of creating a history and directory of all of the clubhouse / treehouse / sereni-tree threads, with links.

* One eye closed, The Real Me bends over the table, aims at the purple cue ball, and smacks it hard. It slams into the rest, and they all go flying, bouncing this way and that all around the table. Not one goes in. *

Uh, your turn, Jake7!

* Through the door to his room, The Real Me whispers back to Jake7: *

Pssst! Hey, Jake7, get back to the pool table. I have an idea!

* As Jake7 returns to the pool table, a spot of light appears next to her. It expands into a circle of fire surrounding a dark void. This time, though, the circle opens parallel to the floor. The head, shoulders, and torso of The Real Me poke up from this hole in reality, but his waist disappears into the hole. The Real Me’s legs are not visible, and the top half of his body seems to hover in mid-air. He is holding a pool cue. He smiles. *

Hi, Jake7! Now we can get on with our game. I don’t think that Rat can complain since I’m actually standing in my own room right now.

Okay, you asked for it. During calving season, Orion is over the gate to the pasture. When you go out to check cows at night and are coming back through the gate, the truck's headlights are pointed away from you and the barn blocks the light from both the yard light and the corral light. When you're closing the gate in the darkness on a clear night you can see every single star in the sky. Moments that make me love living here.

So as Star was starting to show her age (she was the first cow that I started my herd with in FFA), I decided that when she was gone she would live in the center star on Orion's belt because then she could keep an eye on everything during calving and I'd always know where she was. Of course, I had a few other really good girls that had to stick around somehow too, so as time went on Starlight became the star on the right, Grasshopper became the star on the left, and last year Beauty joined Grasshopper. Star and Starlight got their own stars because they were part of my original herd; Grasshopper and Beauty had to share because there was only one more star left and they were second generation cows.

So now when I walk outside at night the first thing I do is look up and find my girls.

It all makes sense in my head, but I've gotten a few strange looks when I look up and ask, "Where's Star?"

Not so much technically. I'm living about 3 hours from home and Dad sold the cows a few years ago in his inching towards retirement plan. My few girls that are left are running with his cousin's cattle. (They live just down the road from us a ways.) They put the heifers that have calved at our place so we still get to have cattle around, and after my cows calve they come over too so I still get to see them, but it's not the same as when we were taking care of them. And I don't have any really good girls like the aforementioned cows any more.

Dammit, Rat! If you enabled real physics again, I would have been sliced in half!

Besides, the Sereni-TREE would collapse its internal space again, and we might be crushed.

Hmmmm... and I somehow doubt that GreyJedi's new engines work on any currently understood principles.

"By my count, this is the fourteenth in the direct succession of clubhouse threads."

14! wow, that's quite an accomplishment. Shouldn't there be a FF net award for most contagious thread or something?

MG, lovely story about your cows. Nearly a tear jerker, but lovely just the same.

I think I will just sit back and enjoy the view, now that we are back in the Black. WOW! would you look at those stars!

Uh, well he DID build us a TV, but it was destroyed when he turned on real physics and a previously-floating Ebo fell on it.

There's still the root beer, I guess.

Uh, well, if you mean two heels of bread, and the fact that SimonWho is English, I guess that can be considered humor.

* The Real Me shrugs. *

Sorry.

Awww... Come here, Ratdad!

* The Real Me embraces Rat, and wonders if he should stop his research into overcoming the Grandfather Paradox. *
