Howdy crew!

My wife Renae just came back from errands with a little bonus. While getting office supplies, she stumbled upon a 3-Ring Binder that has the word "Serenity" along with the Chinese characters for the same! A quick glance at the movie logo reveals the characters are indeed identical.

Coincidence or conspiracy? Who cares? This is a very shiny little place to organize my notes.

Next time you're in your local Wal-Mart, look around and you may find one of your own!

They're called Zen Binders (click on the purple square in the "Check it Out" section to the left to see the serenity one):

http://www.wjschool.com/html/4112.html

I stumbled upon this lovely product back in the summer. I should have bought one then, it only costed $2.99 I think, but by the time I got back to the store, all of the "serenity" ones were sold out. Eager fans perhaps?

Well, I need to pop into the nearby Wal-Mart if they're selling them. Maybe I can put all of my Serenity related stuff in there.

Woohoo...this is worth making a trip out to Super Walmart. I hate the crowds and waiting in line for five hours, but Serenity is worth it!

I heard WalMart was "evil," running out the Mom n' Pop stores where ever they open, slave labor production facilities in third world countries... your ringbinder may have a darker side...

yeah...evil...because they sell notebooks for $2.99
instead of $10 and up at office supply Mom&Pop stores
(I know I know. Low wages/no benefits...
but did you know what Mom & Pop used to pay THEIR employees?)

I actually have a pin that says "I'd rather have a salamander than a WalMart". When I lived in MA, they tried to build a WalMart where and endangered salamander species lived. Fortunately, they weren't allowed to biuld it after all.

oh that is really true, there have been a lot of super stores that have tried to destroy public park land...
I read somewhere that WalMart, or KMart was wanting to build a huge super store next to Indian burial grounds...WTF?!

so I totally agree...

They moved the headstones but they didn't move the bodies!!!!!

Oh wait...

I guess you can find them online and avoid the evils of Wal-Mart, or ask your Mom & Pop place to order the Zen binders for you.

P.S.
It took a while before I was totally comfortable washing my face at the bathroom vanity again, after that movie. Thanks for reminding me. And the next time my dog sits looking quizzically at TV static, it gets shot.

In that case, I definately have to get one! The Blue Sun connection just makes it all the more appropriate. :)

Hehe, I bought the Serenity binder at the very beginning of the school year. It's nifty...and I use it for my Social Studies homework. I have friends that bought it, too, WITHOUT having the Browncoat motive...so I get to rant about Firefly and Serenity to them. With reason! Woo hoo!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Thanks for the heads up Jamie. I am going to Wal Mart tomorrow to find one.

I think it's kinda funny that you had to specify that the dog was looking at "TV static" as opposed to Static...

Wouldn't it be way cool to be as famous as him? (er, 'as he (is)?' I just love using the vernacular. It's so imprecise and... messy.)

But you nailed it: On any other board I probably would have left out 'TV' and just said 'static'. Cain't do that 'round these parts, and I didn't want our favorite real-life 'Helo' to get the idea I was planning on shooting any dog that looked at him...

I guess I could've said "the next time a dog stares at a blank spot on the wall and starts barking", but I've got a dog that does that (crazy not psychic). I really don't feel like dropping everything and running to the local armorer (WalMart, Kmart, etc) and purchasing a weapon, ammunition and gun locker, just to shoot one crazy dog. So, I just left it as "TV static."

Good to see our psychic connection is still intact, though...

Faithfully,

zoid

And now for my next psychic trick: Someone's going to say, "Hey! This is a thread about 3-ring binders! How dare you hijack it like this!"

And you will chuckle maleficently... but in a very fetching way, of course.

Omnisciently,

zoid

Ummm, 5? My prescience stops at the cash register, unfortunately (and God knows I've tried).

But thanks for the 'OMG! You're incredible!'. It's been a few years since I heard that one... I'll be in my bunk.

Fancifully,

My local Wal-Mart was all out of the Serenity binders (although they had plenty of the other ones!), however I did manage to pick up a set of Serenity dividers in the same style. :)
