the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

If you are going to the World Science Fiction convention in Glasgow, this August, those of us who wish we could join you would sure appreciate it if you could join us for the Virtual Shindig that Sunday.

Thing is (well, coupla things are), we usually start @7pm Glasgow time. I have a feeling a major event (Hugo Awards ceremony, perhaps) will be scheduled for that time. I'm gonna see if they have their preliminary schedule up, yet -- this would be amazingly early for a WSFc, if they do. Major Events are up: "The Hugo Awards will be held on Sunday night, and will probably also start at around 8 pm, maybe slightly earlier." 10 outa 10 to the committee, for prompt reporting, but minus several thousand for timing.

Other thing is, 'though I'm sure they'll have a room fulla PCs with net links for members to use, the usual protocol is that they can't be reserved. On the gripping hand, when the Hugo Awards ceremony is going on, the room shouldn't be busy.

So, would someone who is already a member of the Glasgow WorldCon (someone ... not me) ask them if special arrangements can be made to reserve some computers (with links), so that convention members can join the Firefly Virtual Shindig?

If'n y'all would be so kind as to do that for us, least we could do for you is move up the start time for that day. How's about 4pm Glasgow time, Sunday, August 7 (11am Eastern, 8am Pacific)?

Please keep us posted,

Keep the Shiny Side Up . . . (wutzon) Loreena McKennitt, "Bonnie Portmore", from "the Visit"

They just, like TODAY!, announced that Alan Lee would be a special guest http://www.interaction.worldcon.org.uk/ . Guess he's gotten used to venturing out of his cottage.
