>> During her tenure, the network has developed such signature series as the Emmy-winning "24" and "Arrested Development."

Gosh, two series that'll probably both be dead this time next year. Yup, that has the Fox signature all over it.

Funny,

When Joss tied up his ties at Fox and shut M.E. down (rather than sit tight, take another couple of checks and let the contract expire) - he said, and I figured, it was down to the good relationship he had with Fox TV Prods. (read Gail, so says the spookyjesus)

Then again, he's got more than enough experience to know that execs and heads come and go like an alcoholic with a urinry condition.

What will Fox be like now....... Reality Repuplicans (TM) anyone?

Now now, let's think positively here. Gail Berman is a scary person (I just hope she doesn't muck up Paramount). Her replacement won't necessarily be as evil. Hell, we might even be so lucky as to get a closet browncoat who wants nothing more than to throw scads of cash at Joss.

What? It could happen.

Does Blue Sun sponser the Blue Man Group?

It's interesting the enigma that is Gail Berman. For every creative, boundary pushing tv show on FOX that's succeeded, there are about half a dozen others that failed due to bad management. And even though many of those shows got the royal screw-over, the fact that they even got on the air in the first place and long enough to develop their own audiences whether or not they lasted ten years or ten weeks.

Joss may have created FIREFLY, but it was Gail that helped bring it into the world, even if she did take it out shortly afterwards.

Here's hoping that both sides of the table will benefit from this decision. Besides, I was never that big of a fan of the stuff Paramount made as of late.

YT

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

FOX put up $38million (almost the budget of the BDM), broadcast 11 eps, and (due to poor ratings) had to refund a lot of the advertising revenue. The network would have lost less money on Firefly if they'd just said "No" after seeing the pilot. But most of us would never have seen the show. Sure, it ain't impossible that Joss could have sold it to another network, but that's far from a sure thing. I'm grateful every time I get to watch this show.

I think it is great news. As a producer she might be OK, but as a programmer I think she sucked. The only think worse than Gail staying as the head of fox would be if they hired Jordan Levin to replace her. I read in Variety I think that Levin is in consideration for the job. He is terrible. He axed Angel far too early, and he would have killed another of my faves Gilmore Girls if Janollari had not been brought in when he was.

So long Gail, you showed great vision when you fought to get Buffy on the air but somewhere along the way you lost your path. I hope you find it again.
