Best! Online game that no one has heard of...

I have been playing an online game for about 9 years now... I know its sad. I am well and truly addicted.

The game is called Continuum (formerly Subspace). It is a conglomerate of many zones (really separate games in themselves) The best and only zone to play is called "Extreme Games"

It takes a while to understand how to play but once mastered it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Give it a try but allow a few hours to get a feel for it and learn what to do then post back regarding what you think..

I didn't know this had survived in any form. I've got the retail version at home somewhere.

I used to be pretty fair at the blue "SBD" ship (slow but deadly).

My handle in the game is Lethal Force (its kinda a commentary on my ability to kill at will, heh)

I cant believe more people dont play this game.

Starter map? Are you playing in the zone called "Extreme Games"? Dont even look at the other zones.. Extreme Games is by FAR the best. What is your player name I will lookout for you and show you the ropes.

Its hard to describe but i'll try.

Basically its a 2D game played on a map with bases around the perimeter. Players can choose 8 different ship types that each have their own strengths and weaknesses(I prefer the weasel). Little green objects called greens randomly appear around the map and if you fly your ship over them your bounty increases by 1 and you get a random power or upgrade(i.e.speed/recharge/power/guns etc).

There are 2 distinct types of play flagging or fraying.

At the start of a game 30 flags (shiny silver balls) appear at random places on map. Players flying over the top of these flags pick them up and gain extra power for 180secs, every time a flag carrier kills an enemy ship his timer resets back to 180secs thus you can keep carrying flags indefinately(this is fraying). When flag timer reaches zero the flags are dropped and change colour to gold, preferrably one should drop flags in a base, the player or his team cannot re-pickup dropped(gold) flags and must defend them from the enemy team. in a flagging game players must defend their own flags and attack the enemy base to capture their flags. When a team has all 30 flags dropped they win a jackpot.

It really is a whole lot more fun than i've made it sound..
