Quote: "Trash" is written by Ben Edlund and Jose Molina, directed by Vern Gillum. And quoting A.B. on the official board for the plot... Quote:"The Magnificent Seven," based on Akira Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai," dealt with a poor farming village that was always being raided by outlaws. They save up their money and go to a famous gunslinger, asking to hire him to protect the village the next time the raiders come through. The leader assembles seven experts in various lethal professions and they help train the villagers to fight as well. They then beat off the raiders when they show up. So I'd imagine this episode has to do with the prostitutes hiring the Firefly crew to help them fend off some guys that are stealing from or abusing them.

Enterprise did a truly horrible Magnificent Seven-like episode this season. They took an awesome premise and turned it into the most joyless, boring and inept story I've seen come out of the Star Trek camp yet. I swear the writers for Enterprise are mere paycheck collectors. I'm looking forward to seeing the Whedon/Mutant Enemy take on the Magnificent Seven concept... if indeed that's what this episode is about. I'm certain there's an unexpected tweak or two in there somewhere. mattro

Quote:"Heart of Gold" - Mal and the crew come to the aid of a brothel besieged by a ruthless land baron. "Trash" - The return of the character 'Saffron' from the earlier episode "Our Mrs. Reynolds". Here the scheming villainess has a job for the Serenity crew. Can she be trusted? "The Message" - Written by exec producers Joss Whedon and Tim Minear. The crew must deliver the corpse of an old war comrade home, but things are not as they seem.
