I was wondering if any Browncoats would be interested in running a fan table at Memorabilia in August 13th & 14th 2005 at the NEC in Birmingham?

We could possibly stay overnight at a local hotel and find a function room to hold an event in.

We could run it along similar lines with advice from our American counterparts and try to get donations from the actors and Universal to help us with early advertising, flyers, posters etc. We could use the stand as a means of raising funds for a charity of some sort.

I would need assistance from a fairly large number of volunteers to staff the table over the two days of the event in shifts. I am sure that we could do this and use it as a chance to raise the profile of the movie at the event.

It costs a fair bit to rent a table at the event but I could see if we could get a discounted stand or find someone willing to help us financially.

This could be worthwhile, might be worth while getting an idea of what a `Fan Table` consists of to entice people to sign up - might I suggest having a Shindig in the Evening or during the day?

One thing I think would be really cool would be to get hold of a large TV/flatscreen & show fan videos or loops from a DVD of Firefly.

I suppose a raid on posters & flyers for the event - perhaps even ask Universal for some promotional stuff? (would that work?)

Hell, I`d come along for the party - put my Zol Harbatkin stuff on, hand out flyers etc.

You will need to find out exactly how much things will cost (entry, table, local accomodation and/or shindig venue etc. to give an idea of the sort of money to be spent)

It`s a few months away which is good, plenty of time to get people interested!

you can always email me (PM) and also talk about it at the Serenity Con.
