I wish I'd met him in person. . .but it wasn't meant to be.

I saw the "Serenity Park" Blue Sun poster and got very choked up.

I miss Lux.

I was looking at his "Archived in Memoriam" Firefly page today ( http://www.profj.org/firefly/luxlucre/) and listening to the trailer in the background when a tear came to my eye and I remembered the old Irish 'blessing'. . .

"Sure and you're cursing in heaven tonight, boyo."

He's gonna miss it and that sucks.

I officially dedicate THIS thread to his memory and ask that you folks offer your words to him and his memory.

I'll watch it a few extra times for you, Lux. . .and raise a glass when she rips across that screen for the first time.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Nearly everytime I think of the BDM or I watch the trailer I think of Lux. When I think of what it means to be a browncoat and a fan of this show, I know that Lux personified both. His enthusiasm and faith in the show, Joss and the cast never wavered. Lux always knew the show would be a success. Looks like he was right.

I got to speak to Lux via email several times. He was a great person with a big heart and a love for this show that few can hope to match.

I for one have made the vow to purchase an extra ticket each time I go to see the BDM in honor of Lux's memory. I know he will be watching it himself, out there in the black somewhere, smiling right along with us.

Here's to you Lux. Keep Flyin'!

Important people don't do field work.

I never had any correspondence with Lux ever. I mean, to be honest, he was already gone by the time I found this site, and then others before going to his own.

If I may: Its just so incredibly encouraging that a single Browncoat could have such an everlasting effect on people with whom he shared similiar tastes with. The other day (this was some time ago) when someone here mentioned that they were looking for Firefly South Park images, I was astounded that Lux's legacy has lasted as long, and touched as many people as it has. Then, I realized, it wasn't astonishment...It was pride. Pride in my fellow Browncoat who had such love for the show so early on, and drew so many with him, and pride that he continues to do so.
I know that if my time came, and after I was gone, a small legacy I left was drawing at least one person along the way, then it would not have been time or effort ill spent. He has drawn countless people along the way, and so contributed far more importantly to Firefly than I ever could.

Also, that Blue Santa Claus on the mirror, or saved site creeps me out. Something else I'm sure he would have been proud of!

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

I never had a chance to meet, converse with or even e-mail Lux, but when I started hanging around here I found and loved his fan items, especially Serenity Park. And the picture of him out drinking with Adam and Alan, HUGE grins across their faces, always brings a smile.
When we found out that the BDM was a go, there was some discussion as to what we could do to honor Lux's memory. A lot of browncoats agreed to buy an extra ticket at the first showing, or even every showing, of Serenity that they attend. That's what I'm gonna do. I'll imagine that he's sitting a row back, with another HUGE grin on his face. (But he's not getting any of my popcorn!!)

MAL "You only gotta scare him."
JAYNE "Pain is scary..."
