[I had intended to work on this for another month or so, and release it fully finished in time for ComicCon, but the upcoming sneak preview has forced me to move up the schedule a bit. So without further ado...]

Welcome to the BDB!! The BDWhat?? The BDB. It's either the Big Damn Board or the Browncoat Database. It answers to both, and the abbreviation is the same either way. So it's the BDB. Check it out:

Right now, the main feature of the BDB is a collaborative web site directory that helps you find the best Firefly resources on the web, easily navigate from site to site, and allows you to rate the sites, so that the most relevant sites in each category will automatically rise to the top of the list.

In the not-too-distant future, we will also be adding a community section, which will allow event listins to be added, reviews and photos from the events to be attached to them, local groups to be associated with individual users, users associated with their reviews/photos, and support for showing the various usernames everyone uses in the different forums.

My motivation for launching this puppy earlier than perviously planned is so that we'll have a good central URL to pass out to people at the sneak preview, so that they can easily find all the great sites y'all already have out there, without the flier being bogged down with dozens of URLs.

So if there's a site you think should be in the BDB that isn't, you can add it now, as well as rate the sites that are there, so the creme rises to the top.

Oh. And please feel free to cast your vote on which name you like best. Big Damn Board if more fun but a bit vague, while Browncoat Database is more descriptive but a little drier. If we don't come to a concensus soon, I'll rename it to the Banjo Dulcimer Band, complete with trangy background music that you can't turn off. And nobodhy wants that!

Looks like a cool site, thanks for adding a link to my site.

I think I like the name BrowncoatDB a little better due to its discriptiveness but either name is good.
