I didn't see a thread about this so if there is, please forgive me.

There was a Firefly mention in last nights Family Guy. The show was cancelled in 2002 and due to overwhelming success on DVD and Adult Swim they got a second chance. In the first 45 seconds of last nights episode, the father lists off all the shows that would have to be canceled for Family Guy to get a 4th season. Firefly is included.. along with every other show that has been cancelled on F_x since Family Guy. ::sigh:: It didn't make me laugh, just made me depressed.

Not sure offhand if it's been mentioned here, but I had seen it mentioned a few places over the last week. I felt like I had received a little vindication and was surprised (barely) that Fox let them get away with it. Almost as suprised as I was when they called Mel Gibson a Nazi.

Also, the Simpsons had a possible Firefly mention just before it - the fat farm that Bart gets sent to is called "Serenity Ranch". I would have thought it just a coincidence, if it weren't for the "Reavers!" shout out in the credits of the Halloween episode last October.
