Those going to see Hitchhikers on Friday can look forward to a good film, saw it today (minus any trailers [not a single one])

There`s a few cameo apperances in there and it`s all slickly done, although the story is changed a bit (again) but there`s hope that this will be the 1st of many.

Have fun, sorry, I can`t make friday afternoon, but the front line needs the troops!

Just to update, I am bringing my car with me but I haven't found a suitable showing time that'll allow people to check in and then go see H2G2 and make it back in time. So I'm going to keep note of a couple of cinemas and if I'm all checked in and any 4 others are all checked in too, I'll be delighted to take us to see the other intelligent Sci-Fi movie that's coming out this year.

I'm also going to be bringing my laptop and my Wonderfalls DVDs so if you haven't seen the show and are looking for some chillout fun, I'm going put on a few of those in my room.

Otherwise, just looking forward to seeing you there!

I love the fact that when I hover over the bi@ch word in your post, a thing pops up in the bottom left hand corner saying "mail to: bi@ch"

I've just brought the DVDs for some passive entertainment so if anyone feels up for watching them, let me know. Preferably while I'm still there, obviously.

Why is that wink icon green? Is it ill?

Been back here to check if I remember meeting all of you in person... dammit, I know PsychicRiver, Phoebe, Zol, CapEric and a bunch of others, but I can't keep all my aliases straight. Mysterious SimonWho - so aptly named. I recall the introduction but am drawing a blank on which real person that might be.

Well, I'm already seeing blogs and pictures, so we'll be in the new threads, putting names to faces.

(Hope a LOT of the pics of Summer Glau with PsychicRiver make it into the Sun Room! OMG, I think they're dating now, aren't they???)

I must admit I was pretty rubbish at getting around to meeting everyone I was hoping to. This can be explained by two things: 1) I didn't order one of those nice shiny badges as I had a really good idea for a T-shirt introduction thingy except when it came to implementing it, I failed like a British rocket scientist. Next time, I'll have a badge, a baseball cap, portable speakers blaring out my name... 2) An old friend of mine also came to the convention and we did a lot of catching up and hanging out. We were both big Buffy fans at university together so this was hog heaven for us but the down side was we weren't out and about as much as possible. 3) I did every organised event possible. Every talk, autograph session, screenings, everything. It was my first convention so I wanted to do the absolute lot. I think more experience (or more intelligent) attendees paced themselves better.

I did see you and Sami (her Kaylee was quite unmissable) but didn't get the chance to talk to you. At least I got to forewarn you of the likely standards in the hotel.

Suzie I could marry you for starting that rumour! But maybe you'll have to queue behind Summer? I don't know?

Yes I will be uploading our two photos... which are I think the best photos I've ever had taken. I love them so much. Summer was so incredibly nice!

Hopefully tonight I'll get time to write up my whole experience at the Convention, and I will post it here! I have so much to tell you! It was, I think, the best weekend of my life.

And I can't wait to tell you some of the things Jewel told me when I was talking for her (FOR 40 MINUTES!) on Saturday night.

And also, I wanted to say how sorry I was that I didn't get to say goodbye to some of you! Especially Suzie, and her lovely daughter Sam, and Zol too!

Sorry guys!

But I had a great time and got to meet...
FirefloozySuzie, (and her lovely daughter Sam!)
Zol,
Emma,
IamZoe,
Relfexive,
Phoebe,
Flo,
Slayerfest,
and probably some others whose names escape me right now...

But thank you for all being so lovely and so approachable!

(And feeding me when Im in queue's!)

Summer Glau to me - "You are so photogenic."

Howdy folks!

Ah, but wasn't it grand? So many happy people (hotel and heat problems aside), fantastic guests, funny and informative talks, great photos and crazy discos.

Lest we forget: the fancy dress competition. Mind you, I don't think anyone will *ever* forget it! Worthy winners, but all the competitors were equally good in their own right - that means you, Padme! Sorry, I mean Sam

The guests talking in the bar - class. Alan really loved that glowing lightsaber teaspoon thing someone gave him, and Nathan did too.

Oh, and does anyone know where Alan can get the DVD of "Jerry Springer: The Opera" from? He *really* wants it.

I'm just happy to think that somewhere there's a car with one of my 'Serenity' patches on it's dashboard... and it's being driven by some bloke named Nathan

Brilliant to meet you all, each and every one, and I hope to catch you all again in November

But you *are* so photogenic/ cute, Matt (PsychicRiver). Of course, my hopes of matchmaking between you and Sami were hopelessly dashed when I saw you only had eyes for Ms. Glau ;-)

And please: TWO pics of you with Summer? Oh, I'll not settle for the posed snuggle shots. They're precious, but that's not what I meant.

The ones I'm waiting for are the ones of you and Summer saying fond farewells after the closing ceremony. Surely half of the convention hall must have snapped pics (movies?) of that minute-long hugging session, dear.

As I said before, you looked like a couple.

Also, you're very welcome for the protein bar; we can't have you fainting in queue. (For one thing, tall boy, you'd have toppled like a tree and taken down several people in line beside you...)

hey look, someone remembered meeting me! I guess my cover is blown now, in that I look not one single tiny little bit like Zoe. I'm working on it though - especially the attitude. It was nice to meet people in person.

It was my first ever convention, and I was so impressed - with the guests, but also with all the attendees - we met so many people who said they'd just come along on their own, but everyone was so friendly that no one was on their own by the end. Also, the costumes! I liked the Jayne statue very much.

I'm even thinking about coming along to the next con too now...

Well I think there were some people that were surprised at the fact that I was male... lol Im just a River fan...im nothing like her!

And yeah, I came on my lonesome too!

I'll be at Serenity²! It would be great if you could come, I only got to talk to you the once!

And I'm half-considering going to Quortoth now in June! Because I hear rumours that Summer may be goin? Perhaps as a surprised guest?? And if she is, then I will be too helpless to resist! And it would be worth it for Summer and Adam.

I remember you, although I didn't really twig exactly who you were until the Sunday evening!

I too had a good time, at my sort of first convention (I've been to a Discworld convention before, but that was a very different animal).

Shouts out also to Simon Who (Stewart), Flo, Dr Kate, DoubleShiny, Ruthie, Mike(-losaurus), Zol, Cap'n Eric, and anyone else whose name escapes me...

My picture with Morena, Jewel and Summer is now the envy of all my geek friends I'm glad I plucked up enough courage to ask a couple of questions in the panels (of which I attended 100%!). I also said something to all the BDHs when I had something signed or a photo, so I'm glad I wasn't totally star-struck.

I do wish that I could have had the chance to talk to some of them on the Saturday night, but by the time I was around, various groups had already descended on them all, and I didn't really want to impose myself further (especially in groups of people I didn't know). Ah well, maybe next time; still not gonna be able to be in the meet 'n' greet though

But that's all by the by. I got to see what great personalities they all are (Nathan Fillion is a comedy genius. No kidding.), and met loads of cool Browncoats who I hope to see in future conventions and shindigs Overall, a complete success!

Hello everyone,

I had a fantastic weekend - the guests and fans were the friendliest ive ever met!

Wish i could have chatted with more fellow Browncoats - i had quick chats with Zol and Flo but saw many more of you - firefloozysusie and ruthie (i had my ruthie fan badge on!) to name a few but you all looked happy in conversation that i didnt bother anyone. I did make friends with three lovely Australians and a convention newbie Laura so had plenty of folks to hang out with.

Thought the evenings were amazing, its been years since ive done the Star Trekking dance - Browncoats certainly know how to party! and couldnt believe that the cast were so relaxed with the fans that they felt they could hang and chat with us for hours! Our BDHs are the BEST!

The talks had me in stitches laughing and Alans face when he saw the Wash-o-saurus will stay with me for years.

Just going to find some bluetac to display my autographs and photos on my wall with pride!

Great to see everyone even though i didnt get to speak to you all!

I also made a spur of the moment decision to go to Serenity2 and i just managed to get in for the meet and greet! My mum will kill me if she finds out!

If he's interested and you have an address for him, I can do him a copy. I have a copy of the BBC filming of the show, digitally transferred and I could put it onto a DVD as it hasn't been released anywhere officially.

I got to see the opera in London for my birthday and it was just fabulous, particularly as I saw it with my whole family. My mother has spent the last 57 years carefully avoiding bad language on TV and she caught up with the national average in just one night. Not too surprising considering that there's a song called "What the f***, what the f***, what the f***ing f***ing f***?"

If you do want me to send a copy to you to pass on to him or tell me where to send it, let me know and I'll oblige.

I remember he said that an e-mail link for him on the official movie site still forwards e-mails to him... but I don't know how buried that link is. You might like to go hunting for it.

And I'll say this: that Jerry Springer thing sure does sound colourful.

You haven't seen it? Well, would you like a copy? It definitely worked better seeing it in person (it is an opera after all) but the show is definitely a fascinating reaction to modern television and morality.

Send me an personal message with your address and I'll send you a copy.
