No movie details here, I promise.

Sean and Morena showed up, just said hi and thanks for coming, then sat with the audience for the movie, saying they hadn't seen it before. Afterwards, they had a signing.

The movie was prefaced by a really nice, amusing short taped appearance by Joss, saying it was "our" movie and thus our fault if it was bad. (Joking, of course.) But really, it was about getting the word out and making sure the film is a success. I hope someone with a better memory can post more of what he actually said. It was trademark Joss--funny and moving all at once.

NO details, except to say that I am one of the world's pickiest people, and I really really really really really liked this movie. As other reviewers have said, the fans will NOT be disappointed.

Hang in there until September.

I was there, too. Had a great time, saw a great film.

I was also totally awed by the great atmosphere with all the other Browncoats, much better than other fandom-groups I've experienced.

Also, as icing on the cake, I went with a friend of mine who'd never seen anything Firefly before, and he loved it.

Great news that your mundane friend liked it. We have been a bit worried that this movie isn't accessible to non-fans.

Wasn't the atmosphere awesome? People were just so friendly. We were first in line, but the way they herded us, they were going to start the line at another point. The nice folks at that point actually told the theatre employees to start where we were, so as not to be unfair.

LOVE YOU BROWNCOATS!

Definitely amazing. The theater staff seemed really cool about us, too.

it was so wonderful...the movie was AMAZING, and getting to meet sean and morena was just...unbelievable. they were pretty much the most gorgeous people i could possibly imagine. they were so nice too! when morena smiled at me and said "hi" i just about died...same with sean, although i don't even remember what was said because he was so HOT i couldn't process anything lol.

i was dissappointed we didn't sing all the verses of hero of canton...but at least we sang the chorus:)

Hey! I was there too (anyone at Grand Chau Chow afterward? I was wearing the "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal" t-shirt).

I echo what everyone else said. It was great, the Browncoats are great, Sean and Morena are true champs for coming out (all jetlagged and hungover as they were!)

Can't wait for everyone to see this so we can start talking!

a rousing rendition of "the hero of Canton" was led by me.

sorry about not singing all the verses-- truth be told, I don't know them. And I didn't plan on leading 600 or so minions that evening, either.

I just showed up sans ticket holding a sign that said "two browncoats need tickets" (though my lovely wife had suggested the sign read "will trade two fugitives for tickets") thinking I might have to sing for my tickets.

when I did get in, I picked some great seats in the front and saved them for friends who had tickets but were too lame to show up early. I stood to find them, realized it was easier to announce for them, and, to my surprise, discovered I had the attention of the whole auditorium. and all I had prepared was my song!

five minutes later the camera crew came over, asked for it again, and, being the whore that I am who one day wants to show his children the featurette on the DVD saying "that's your old man when he thought he was cool," I obliged.

no time to learn the verses. and my range at that volume doesn't facilitate anything that low anyway.

after signing the waiver to be used in the featurette, I received a few requests for the themesong from those who simply don't understand that rowdy crowds mustn't sing ballads.

They discovered that on their own a few minutes later.

I sunk back into obscurity at that point.

that was you? haha you did a very good job:) i'm so glad you got in! you looked so sad walking around with your sign! it wished i had tickets for you but unfortunately i didn't:( i was actually sitting in the same row as you, or at least almost the same row. i doubt you saw me, but i was the little blond girl in the yellow shirt with the sequins and stuff (it's my friend's traditional indian shirt. couldn't find a good costume so i went asian hehe).

sorry if a couple words here and there are wrong, haven't seen the ep in a while (i'm gonna watch it right after hehe)

jaaaayne
the man they call jaaayne
he robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
stood up to the man and he gave 'em what for
our love for him now
ain't hard to explain
the hero of canton
the man they call jayne

now jayne saw the mudders' backs breakin
and he saw the mudders lament
and he saw that magistrate takin
every dollar and leavin 5 cents
he said you can't do that to my people
you can't crush them under your heel
and jayne strapped on his hat
and in 5 seconds flat
he stole everything boss higgins had to steal

he robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
stood up to the man and he gave 'em what for
our love for him now
ain't hard to explain
the hero of canton
the man they call jayne

now here's what separates heroes
from common folk like you and i
the man they call jayne he
turned round his plane
and let that money hit the sky
he dropped it onto our houses
he dropped it into our yards
and the man they called jayne he
turned round his plane
and headed out for the stars

he robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor
stood up to the man and he gave 'em what for
our love for him now
ain't hard to explain
the hero of canton
the man they call jayne
