I'm with you there. I blame college. I used to know when everything happend. I had very little in the way of a profesional life, I stayed up late, and could occationaly party with nothing to worry about having to be ready for the next day. But thanks to college and graduating and having a career I never hear about anything anymore. Right now it was so not worth it. I think we should ask that they have a pre-screening event every week for the next few months. I'm bound to find out about one of them in time. Actually I get out for summer vacation soon mabey I'll just camp in front of the theater window and ask if Serenity is for sale yet for the next 4 months. Arggggg I'm mad.

I feel your pain auraptor. By the time I got to work this morning, found out about the additional screenings and contact info for the atlanta theater it was already sold out. Very disappointing!

By 11:00am, the tics were sold out. Lets see, by that time, I had been at work for 4 1/2 hours already and was no where near a computer. I came home to check on the 'can't stop the signal' page, and there wasn't anything there indicating that a) tics had gone on sale yet, b) when they MIGHT go on sale or c) that it was sold out here in ATL - again.
I finesse my way around the FANDANGO site, only to finally find the 'special event' page.... SOLD OUT.

Thanks for playing!

I would like to know how many atl people actualy bought their tickets on Fandango and how many had to camp in the line for it. Cause it seems to me that the only way to get one is to live at the theater.

And I wonder how many Browncoats got tics to the 2nd screening had already been to the 1st one. Or are the tics being snapped up by folks just looking to make a quick $$, w/no real intent to go themselves.

Either way, it's a good sign, I suppose, for the suits at 'versal. They gotta be happy w/ this show of interest, which is nice.

I got two tickets for Phoenix, AZ through movietickets.com, but just barely - when I checked back an hour later it was all sold out. Since I live in Los Angeles, this means I have to take two days off work and drive 6 hours there and 6 hours back, but it will be worth it!

Well the thing is that on the Can't Stop the Signal site the message read something like not for online sale yet check back later. Then it changed to sold out. If they do this again they really need to give more advanced notice so that people have a chance to go down to the theater and pick up tickets. I could have if I had known last Friday. But they wait till less than 24hours before sale and then people buy them up before most people have ever heard about it. I love Firefly but I have a life and can't check the boards every day to see if tickets are going on sale.

I feel your pain. This is the second time i got so happy about getting a chance of watching Serenity before september and once again i got my hopes crushed by the realization of all the ticket being sold out. I am just so and that i will not be able to see it the second time a got a chance to.

OK so i think i rambled on for too long and now i'm ganna go and cry to myself.

Psst... AURAPTOR. I'm one of the four folks you stood around outside with before the last Atlanta screening (I was the guy in the River shirt). You remember the time. When we all didn't have tickets?

Yeah. Well, that ain't exactly true this time. This time, things are different. This time, we have tickets. We ALL have tickets. (Well...not that guy with the long black hair who showed up later...well at least not that I know of). But YOU have a ticket.

One doesn't stand and hope for a miracle for two hours with someone and not sort of have a bonding experience. And one doesn't sort of have a bonding experience with someone and not sort of watch that someone's back. I figured something like this might happen again, so... when we snagged our tickets, we got one for you too. Hope you don't mind.

Not sure how you want to handle it. We could just meet you at the theater that night. Or we could mail it to you or whatever. Up to you. Just let me know.

It's not exactly Joss flying down in the helicopter, I know. But it'll do in a pinch, I'm sure.

Of course...I could just let that guy from Tennessee have your ticket. Hmmm...

"Well, here I am"... GOING TO SEE SERENITY ON MAY 26th!

Regards,
Luke

Oh Joss, Universe, et al., I think you are out to make me sad today. So many years of waiting for more firefly (I've been a fan since Train job first aired) now i have to wait more. I missed the first round of tickets... I missed the second by hours. If only I hadn't written my paper and decided to pass my classes. I would have gone anywhere on the East Coast, though again, why does New york not even make the list? I would have driven to VA or maybe even IL or GA if it meant I could see it. *Sigh* I guess I give up. I'm upset right now because I can't seem to win. I've been a fan for a long time and I've been waiting for that whole time, but I didn't check this morning and it cost me 4 months of sadness (when most of my friends will be out of the country for their junior years, or graduated, too...).

I thought these showings were great until twice a rabid long-term fan like me couldnt' ge tickets. Now I'm just too frustrated with the system to think, to realize that I should sleep now and prepare for class/my recital tomorrow.

Oh well, I give up on firefly for now (if anymore are announced I'll probably be in Hawaii at the time... or working, though I doubt they'll be a third round). I worked off some of the sadness with Star Trek drinking games...but I feel like this browncoat lost the to the war again...

*sigh* ....

And please, for the love of Joss, don't even THINK about talking to wanton floosies who'd post that thing on E-Bay with motives of obscene profit!!

Never give up, never surrender!

I felt exactly the same way. I had resigned myself to accept matters as they were, but still took comfort in viewing all this fan enthusiasm as being for the greater good. 10 screenings sold out like lightning. 20 more screenings are scheduled, and BAM! They sell out in no time. I'm no movie guru, but my guess is this doesn't suck for what could possibly come down the road. Not just September, but possibly MORE BDMs.

So keep asking around, and if nothing comes of it, take a chance at showing up at the theatre anyway. As they say with the lotto - You can't win if you don't play.

I feel your pain, but at least you have a screening in your city. Am I the only Firefly fan that lives in New York City? Gee, we're only the second biggest city in the country. Where is the love? There seems to be a distinct California bias here. Not that I have anything against California or anything

Fate's Bitch? This time, heads it is! PIOTROWSKI and AURaptor rock! In response to your earlier post, I personally won't see the screening on the 26th (even though I would love to see it again,) just because it would be remarkably unfair to folks who haven't even seen it once. I did, however, try and fail to get tickets for friends - and you would have been at the top of the list had you been without one. I'm sorry that I didn't come through for you, but I'm very happy that Piotrowski did. Looks like we're meeting up at Fuzzy's again beforehand. Though I won't be seeing the movie, I hope to hang out with you guys that night.

Yeah, so I guess we'll just see you at Fuzzy's on the 26th then AURaptor. That's probably the easiest place for the dropoff.

And I promise you're not dreaming. Or, well... we all are. See you there.

WEll, I'm not in New York City, but I'm in the area. Well, okay, so I'm as far up on the Metro north lines as you can get.... I would have prefered a NYC screening, but hell, I would have driven pretty far if I could have gotten tickets.

Yeah... I tried to get tickets for the Hartford screening. I was waiting to see if I could use my parent's car to drive there with a friend, but then, as I watching the Serenity website, the movie suddenly sold out. Right before my eyes. Too bad I live in the city, otherwise I might have my own car... but I'm prepared to wait 'till September.

I need to start checking the board more often. I only check it a couple of times a week and some week's I don't check it at all. I could've gone to Phoenix. I have friends to visit there. Oh well.
