HEY, so i just watched the serenity preview 3 or 4 times and i didnt see one clip of kaylee or of shep. they are in the movie arent they?!

Yes they are in the movie, but Book doesn't make an appearance in the trailer.

Kaylee's in there, but you have to look close and fast to find her. I know she's in the shot with everyone but Book on the bridge. She's in the background when the Reaver appears behind Mal, and there's a scene where's she's going up some ladder or small steps, being helped by someone I suspect is Simon.

But, yeah, they are there...

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

If you are watching the trailer, pause at 00:00:10. This is a shot of the crew on the bridge. From left to right: Zoe, Wash, KAYLEE, Mal, Inara, Simon, Jayne. So there's Kaylee for you.
