This ( see link below )is just a project a friend and I just finished up... We are selling it wwithout charging a profit (well, we are charging a $0.04 profit, but only to make the numbers come out "nice", and so we can keep track of numbers sold), and mainly view it as a way to get the Firefly name and message out.

As the site mentions, it is just a collection of life lessons garnered from the greatest scifi series of all time. Some are funny, some not so much, some are educational, some... well... not. It is meant in good humor, and is not meant to violate any copyrights, or offend anyone, or anything like that. At any rate, if you feel like expanding your library a bit, give it a look :).

Important people don't do field work.

Whattya know...another King fan!

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

(Absolutely! The man has some great stories.)

An addendum is that CafePress is currently running a deal where, if you make an order of $30 or more (at any single store or combination of stores), you can get $10 off if you punch in the coupon code "GRDAD05". Sounds like a definitively good deal to me :). What this means to you is that if you successfully spend 30 bucks anywhere in CafePress (not difficult to accomplish, all things considered), you could get the book for free. A good idea? I think so... ;)

So, how are they selling, if you don't mind my asking?

I hate using my credit card; can I get one somewhere by mailing a money order/cash?

Thanks

Not to put too fine a line on it, but they are not. At all. But such is life... As one of my co-authors said, this was a labour of love. If no one ever buys one, it does not really matter in the end (though I would really appreciate it if you bought one anywise ;) ). At any rate, the whole not-selling bit is probably why I keep spamming all of the Firefly message boards I can come across.

As for paying by a method other than credit card, I am not aware of any other means by which CafePress accepts payment. Correction, they do take check cards (as in debit or ATM cards that have that particular functionality), but it has to be either a Visa Check Card or a MasterMoney Card. Further information can be found here: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/cppayment.aspx

I might (stress on "might") be talked into selling them out myself (as in ordering a few copies, and then mailing them out to people when I get a check), but that opens a whole new can of worms that I am not sure I want to deal with.

A selection of what can be found in the book is below:

"
Dead bodies do tell tales. Loudly. And sometimes with guns.

A funny-lookin' hat made by your mother is oft better than other things you can get in the mail.

Asking questions is a good way to get them noticed.

Cynicism is often a byproduct of death.

Bein' naked ain't so bad.

Replacing their snipers with your sniper generally works well for you. Not so much for them.

Heroism is all about timing.

Punching tends to ruin most parties.

Bein’ pretty saves people from imminent death. Hopefully.

Guns are an adequate substitute for brains.

Just because you lost don't mean you're done.

Being tortured together is a way to bond. Not the best way, by any stretch, but certainly a way.

Tossing a crate full of cash out the window rarely seems like a good idea. Try it sometimes anywise.

Hiding in plain sight always works. So long as the stuff is in plain view somewhere else.

Keeping people in freezers definitely makes them more transportable.

Hovering chandeliers don't need an excuse.

If the pilot of a ship forgets who is driving, this might be a cause for concern.

Additionally, the book itself has been updated with even more quips, mostly drawn from the movie. And, amazingly enough, the first version actually sold a few copies... I was surprised, myself. Thanks to whoever bought them! Keep flyin'.
