Ok, I know, I know... it's probably futile. But I figure since the date is fast approaching, it wouldn't hurt to ask. Does anyone happen to have one (1) extra ticket to the San Francisco Serenity screening? Perchance you even know of a nice location from Van Ness where I can potentially hear portions of the movie, or at least smell the popcorn? Anyone? I promise barrel-of-monkeys-like laughter/entertainment before and after (if requested).

Maybe as a more serious question, because I am actually curious: would anyone care to divulge how they actually got a ticket to one of these screenings... was it just a quick trigger finger, or what? Don't be shy. Discuss.

Here's my guide to getting a ticket:

1) Be a college student during midterms, and thus studying/online all night.

2) check the browncoat forums ever other night or so.

3) Be lucky. And really really fast at punching credit card numbers into movietickets.com/fandango.

Also, it helps to have a kind of sixth sense about when the tickets are gonna come online. The first screening was easy...everyone was kinda hanging out online waiting for the trailer/discussing the trailer after we got it. The second was even easier, Joss gave us an entire night advance warning.

CHEWIE

My best friend got tickets for the first screening and I could have killed her! She was at the top of my hit list! LOL! I work graveyard so when she saw Mr.Whedon's letter saying there was going to be another screening she called me at work and I spent all night and most of the next morning sitting at the computer... and just when I thought I might lose my mind... I got my tickets.

CANTTAKESKY

I checked the OB and cantstopthesignal sites faithfully all morning for the 5/26 screening. I got to the CSTSS site 5 minutes after it was announced on the OB. It was too late. Philadelphia had sold out in one minute, the theatre manager told me. ONE minute!

I'm planning to stand out in front of the theatre and hope agaist hope. I won't pay scalping prices though, cause that is just offensive. So my chances are...well...pretty bare.
