So I wandered over to Forbidden Planet and whilst there noticed this guy in a bandana who looked like Robert Rodriguez - who is just one of my favourite directors. With more time to kill I went to the Cinema Store which is just down the road from FP and split into 2 shops. I go in the first one and low and behold there's that guy again, just leaving. So I asked the guys at the counter if it was RR and they said yes it was - now it was 5.30 by this time and you'd think the guy would be off getting ready for his big premiere. I go into the other part of the shop and there he is again. So I browse for a bit and then figure - heck this is one of your favourite directors, you have to speak to him. So I went up, wished him good luck for the premiere, which he said he was sure would go well, got his autograph, mumbled nonsense about seeing Spy Kids whilst under the influence of absinthe and then left the poor man alone!

Speaking of Hats (ala Jayne Cobb style) - if you come to Memorabelia (in August), you should be able to pick 1 up there all going well - they are going to be sold to people attending the August Shindig at the NEC in Birminghma. Hopefully I should have a few by then (another good reason to attend the Shindig & Memorabelia Event)

President Emma - I like it. I'm afraid Fray101 that this is the only board I frequent - I have tried others but only feel comfy here.

Quite a few people at Serenity came from the Netherlands but I only met one and that was at 4:00 on the Sunday/Monday morning - not a good time to meet new people. Maybe at the next one though.

'Rel' is definitely the way to go, since it is supposed to be two words, first name and last, anyway. It's the capitalisation of usernames that causes the problem here; in other places, where the division is much clearer, people have their own special reasons for getting it wrong

I'm used to people getting it wrong by now, PR and El Presidente, and even I get it wrong on occassion

I use the same name pretty much everywhere. So if you see a Rel or a RelFexive, it's almost certainly me.

And it's not surprising you thought it was reflexive, Fray, since the name originated with a mispelling of that very word! It got typed wrong and I thought "hey, cool Star Wars name!" and that was how it first got used. Now it's just my general nom de net.

We have normality.

Hotel for Serenity2 in November has less than 80 rooms available for the whole weekend. (about 100 on Friday but Sunday has less than 75) - I rang up yesterday to book

If you want to book a room, I would suggest you do it sooner rather than later.

the hotel is very big but how many of those Sean has reserved we don't know. As an airport hotel they have to keep a set amount free for emergencies with flights

This is going back approx 45 posts! (I go away for 2 days people! Two days and there's so much catching up to do!) Anyway, I'm going.Even if the fact that you all know each other is a little intimidating! I'll smile through and all will be fine!

CASUALTY

I'd love to come to Birmingham! Seeing as I can't make the shindig on Sat! I'm very upset! Looking at the video of all you guys at Serenity I'm so annoyed that I didn't go. I'm hoping that my degree result will make me proud I didn't!
