Has anyone who has seen a preview of Serenity noticed if the red button from "Out of Gas" was back in the cockpit?

That wa from `old` Serenity, I can`t remember seeing it in both the UK screenings.

The cockpit of the `New` Serenity is less cluttered, yet lit better, it may have lost some of antiqueness. The scenes in the cockpit area are quite close-in scenes, and unlike the TV series there isn`t time to look and gape at the interior.

I hope that helps, I put a spoiler space because this deals with something specific to the movie.

From a story standpoint I'd guess that it's not there.

The bridge has been significantly redone, why would the keep they button? For us we’d leave it for sentimental reasons, but for them it’s something they’d rather forget, left up only because they never bothered to take it down. During the remodeling it would have to come down, it’s just a question of, “Would the put it back up?”

-

I figure the difference is better described by Wash spending his take from some job on enhancements than, “The ‘Versal people just thought it looked better.”

In answer to your actual question, I have yet to see the movie and thus have no idea.

I will spoiler tag this, just in case (I am super-paranoid about not spoiling others who don't want it):

It's true the cockpit does look different - cleaner and nicer - but I thought at one point I saw a big red button near the top of the panel Wash sits behind. I don't think it was the same red button (style was a bit different), but when I saw it, it was out of place enough in the new cockpit for me to notice it (big red button on a fairly clean-looking area).

The reason I ask is because when Firefly was cancelled, the cast removed that button from the set before it was dismantled and presented it to Joss, telling him, "When you need us back, just press the button." He proudly displayed it in his office in the hopes Firefly would somehow return.

I thought it might show back up on the set as an inside comment to the cast and fans who know the story, but having seen a couple of still photos from the movie on-line, it appears the button did not return. I will have to take a better look in September.

`If` Joss is at the London Film & Comic Con inJune, I may just ask him this very question about the fate of the button, It was Alan who removed the button and gave it to Joss - who knows what joss has done with it?

I agree with Physchick - you should read that spoilered-out comment. I noticed what Physchick did - there's no PLOT spoilers in that comment, so I'd recommend reading it unless you want to be COMPLETELY spoiler-free.

Important people don't do field work.

Fox probably got ahold of the commentary, and served Joss with a cease and desist order and threatened that if he didn't give The Red Button back, they were going to sue him into oblivion. Some Fox exec's probably using it for an ashtray, and telling his friends how much he despises Joss Whedon.

So, Joss pounded it once, and then sent it on its merry way...

The next mystery is "What happened to Tardy the Turtle from Greg the Bunny?"

I vote we call Scooby and the rest of the gang to handle that one...

PS...All of the above is bullshit, except for the Tardy thing...he really is missing...

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."
