I feel as though I've been complaining some lately, so here's a new happy post where we can reminese around the pool about favorite firefly moments....pull up a lounge chair, some lemonade, and join in!

My favorite is when Zoe and Mal come in and have the following exchange:

Mal: Looks like we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoe: Big Damn Heros Sir.
Mal: Don't it just?

OXYOPIA

To this day, my favorite Firefly moment occurs right after the crew makes their illegal docking on Niska's Skyplex in 'War Stories'. While Niska and the torturor's attention are elsewhere, Mal makes his move and I get chills to this very day when I see Mal (sans ear) saying:

'You wanna meet the real me now?!'

Of many, many moments that I love, my favorite is still the look on Mal's face when he sees Serenity for the first time. Love at first sight, played perfectly by Nathan. That shot gets me every time.

"One day, lad, all this will be yours ..."
"What - the curtains?"

inara breaking down and crying in "heart of gold." i soooo feel all her pain right with her.

since that's a sad moment, i'll do a happy one as well...umm...

inara's cover-up in "our mrs. reynolds." "i only fell is all!" hehe... and also "no power in the verse can stop me." i mean, c'mon! river's so cool in that moment!

Thank you guys for sharing I also love the scene where Mal has just sent Niska's goon flying, and he turns to the next one and begins to give his speech again and the goon is all "Returning all the money, best for everyone, I agree completely!"

Mine is soon after that, when Nandi has been killed and Inara is kneeling over her. Mal comes up and Inara looks at him with total grief in her eyes. Then her expression just changes from grief to anger. Mal understands what she's saying ("go get the bastard") without her saying a word. That was incredible.

The first time I ever saw that done, and it was even better than the scene in "Raiders", was in the James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". If you ever get a chance to see that, look for the scene where a guy chasing Bond on skis is "processed" by a large snow blower. Plus, that's just a great movie to watch anyway.

i may have seen that...a few years ago abc played bond movies on saturday nights, and i had a tendancy to watch them while half asleep/distracted by the internet. anyways, sounds familiar. i'll have to see it again hehe:)

Just a simple moment: the way Inara says" Hey, you" to Kaylee in the pilot. Sisterhood, friendship and love, all in two words and a look.

I like happy threads.

It was priceless Chrisisall

My favorite is pretty much the entire episode "Out of Gas." Zoe hating Wash. Finding out Serenity's genius mechanic was NOT Kaylee. Meeting Kaylee for the first time '...on her back.' Confirming there is little more to Jayne than a bigger paycheck and a private bunk.

I have to add Simon's reaction to first the statue and then the Ballad of Jayne in 'Jaynestown' were classic moments too.

"No... This is what it must feel like to go insane..."

When zoe completely shortcircuits the whole 'choose who dies' dilemna by picking wash before it can even be asked

most romantic moment in the whole series

Saphron: But sir I am your wife.

I love the look on his face, and well I just like hers.

Chocolatey Caite (and 'hello' to an equally chocolatey lissa):

Yay! No one has mentioned my favorite moment (although SubGuy got dangerously close):

In "Out of Gas", the final scene. After all the dreamlike flashbacks, Mal awakens from what he surely must've thought was going to be the last time he would ever fall asleep, in the sickbay, surrounded by all his friends/family/crew. After a comforting exchange (and discovering he's getting a transfusion from a blood-loss loopy Wash), he starts to drift back off to sleep, when he says:
Quote:

MAL
You're all gonna be here when I wake up?

BOOK
We'll be here.

Mal allows himself to close his eyes.

MAL
(eyes closed, smiles)
Good. That's good...

...Then he dreams of the first time he saw Serenity.

Wow! What a show! OoG was my favorite episode, and this just points out why. The whole 'life flashing before your eyes' concept as Mal tries to repair the ship, and then the final moment in the sickbay, where he's trying to convince himself that seeing his friends isn't just a final dream before dying. Score! Bravo!

Respectfully,

zoid

P.S.
And I actually got a little misty writing the quoted bit, just remembering it. I'm getting soft.

'Out of Gas' is my favorite episode too, and also seems to be among the Browncoat friends I have.

(At least in the top 3)

Perhaps my quote kinda gives it away too, huh?
