.... So I dreamt of Firefly last night? Didn't think I had it that bad but maybe I do?

Anyways:
Mal, Simon, Zoe, Kaylee and I are under siege (from whom I don't remember) in a little weather boarded cottage out in the woods. Zoe mentioned something about Jayne being out in the woods looking to pick some people off as they approached the house, but I never saw him.....

Then the shooting starts and there's all manner of bullets flying in. Kaylee grabs me and squeezes me tight. My lungs are expelled of any air and I'm starting to lose conciousness. Mal suggests to Kaylee to ease up on the sentiment so as I can breathe. This she does but she's twitching with fear so I hold her hand. (Yeah that was nice). Zoe then grabs me and asks me to be her sparring partner for her martial arts training, and in no time she's boxing the beejeesus out of me!

I'm doing my best but I sense she's getting impatient with my lack of ability so I ask Simon to take over. He does but Zoe kicks him square across the head and he's knocked out!

Kaylee laughs and hugs me again, while Mal picks up Simon and carries him around like he's a child, singing to him to try and revive him... Zoe looks on unimpressed and dashes out of the house. More shooting starts! The lights go out! Our attackers crash in through the door. There's loads of noise and shouting going on and I get a fist to the face, in all the chaos, that has me seeing a flash of white before I go down. Last I heard was a muffled:
"We'll have to leave him..."
From Mal and the sound of footsteps on wood as they all left.

Then I woke up....

Not a great dream I know - but thought I'd share it with you all. Sorry if it's dull.

I do remember Kaylee smelling really nice. Not at all like engine grease and fuel like I'd have expected. Dreams can be sooo strange.

Anyone else dreamt of Firefly....? I could do with some company out here in this rather odd place I find myself in!

Important people don't do field work.

I think I have dreamt of Firefly...I have that feeling, but I can't remember when I wake up. This happens to me a bit.

Anyways, my next fanfic is going to be called "Somnabulism". I hope you don't mind. But, its big! I'm going to start off with some of River's nocturnal activities. Then, I'm going to have to explain them, and that worries me.

Anyways...So.

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

America loves a winner!

Curious what the mind can conjure up when it's off on its own.

No I don't mind at all. Let me know when it's done.

I tend to have pretty good recall when it comes to dreams.... I can still remember dreams from when I was a kid - at least the visually striking ones anyway. Mostly though I end up being chased or hunted so it's not too difficult to remember them.

Very true... It would be nice to understand them a little better though...

Do you think we always had editing in our dreams?

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

I can explain what this dream means. In keeping with patient confidentiality, the analysis is enclosed as a spoiler.

Somnabulist, I've had a dream of Firefly myself.
My dream was rather boring though. I'm in the cargo bay helping Kaylee move a crate, and Mal is directing some one to do something. He looks at me for a second (like, who the heck are ya?) and then tells Kaylee where he wants the crate, and I help her move it. There was an alarm sounding , proximity alert perhaps, it seemed really urgent, everyone runs to do something, and I wake up because my alarm is going off! Gorramit!

YT - you cheeky bugger! But you maybe right. So fair nuff ;)

I think your prescribed remedy for my problem may have been what caused the dream in the first place.
:)
On another note - ever wonder how in your dreams details seem so accurate, more so than when in your conscious state. I just remember how nice Kaylee smelt in my dream... Now I've watched Firefly dozens of times and it's never once occured to me how the ship or the crew would smell.

Dreams....

Oh thank God!!! I thought I was the only one. Pheeeuw!!!

The old alarm in the dream parallel.... Never nice when that happens, especially when it pulls you from a dream you're really enjoying.

So how did you feel when you woke up and realised you just had a dream about Firefly?

Cheers

PSYCHICRIVER

This is so weird. I was just coming to post this thread!

Last night I dreamt that I got to go to an advance screening of Serenity. My whole year group went, it was at some hotel.

Anyway, 20 minutes into the film I had to leave. But I was going to come back cos they were showing it twice.

Anyway, crisis over, I returned to hotel/theatre and it had finished, and I realised they were only showing it once! I was so upset!

"Two by two, hands of blue."
"We'll take care of each other. I'll knit!"

Summer Glau to me - "You are so photogenic."

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call ... The Twilight Zone.

I dreamt I was watching Serenity (this was a year ago, back when we thought the release would be in April!).

Actually, it's more like I was living the events of the movie. It was really cool, but I don't remember the details. I just remember this incredibly beautiful city that we visited where Book lived. It was kind of run-down, but still beautiful. Bright and colorful. I think it was made up of old spaceships that people had parked there when they stopped running. There was a gorgeous river running through the town, with an old bridge crossing over it.

The story of the dream had something to do with an old army-buddy of Mal's. A woman seargant who betrayed her Browncoat buddies to the Alliance at the end of the war.

The weird thing was that Adam Baldwin was in that dream. Not Jayne, Adam.

I have heard of a place where humans do battle in a ring of Jell-O.

That's a great image for a city in the future! I love it. See dreams and their details! Amazing aren't they!...

I like the fact also that Adam appeared, and not as Jayne - nice. Good dreamy headspin for ya.

So it seems I'm not alone on this one - cool.

I prefer the haunting Bernard Herman theme, used for only the first few eps, rather than the more familiar techno theme.

I felt like the geek that I am. :}
