Right then, Joss may or may not be coming, but that wouldn`t keep a good browncoat down, right?

So, who`s going, what times etc. etc.?

Although this event is on Sunday as well as Saturday, the plan would be for a Saturday meetup, getting to the event early for the opening and spend quite a bit of the day of the day there, and maybe later have a meal together as a location nearby.

Any other ideas? fun & games?

PR sweetie, I knew there was some confusion when we were talking about Joss being at a convention - we were talking about LFCC (I can mention it on this site - ha!).

In fact here's the link: http://www.londonfilmandcomiccon.com but be warned - they take ages to update it.

PrettyinPink - wouldn't you look just peachy in this t-shirt!

(Nearly forgot PR - send me those photos!!! Or I'll limit you to one!)

There are lots & lots of stalls there. I went to one at Wembley last year but this year it's at Earls Court supposed to be bigger than ever (not that you'd tell by the Guest List).

I'm certainly planning on being there on Saturday but don't know with who and for how long so can't really commit to any plans to meet up at the moment (depending on how long I have to queue for Charisma Carpenter's autograph I'm hoping to fit Batman Begins in that day too).

One thing that looks like is happening on Saturday only (according to the website, is the Blakes 7 reunion) - that will be rather cool - I saw Gareth Thomas a few years back at a B5 con where JMS was there, and they had him dressed up as he was in the last ever episode! Fantastic!

p.s. I managed to catch the Dr. Who that I missed on Saturday - talk bout saffire & steel revisited, that Who episode was creepy!!

I'm going to be there on Saturday and would love to meet up as I didn't make the last one (hope you all had a good time!!).

Fray I have a friend coming with me who is determined to queue up for Val Kilmers auto so maybe I'll see you in the Q!!

Personally not bothered about the Blakes 7 reunion but everyone to there own.

Where do I find out about this meal? Did someone say Alan Tudyk site? Do I have to sign up? Cos I'm on so many boards already!!

The Blakes Seven cast were at the LFCC I went to last March - and noone seemed to interested then!

I guess I wouldn't mind Val Kilmer's autograph but he's only going to be there at certain times so shall see how it goes. Charisma's the only one I'm bothered about - unless the Serenity Showcase comes off of course!

Hope to see you there though.

You got me! Supported them since I was about 8 (when a friend at school told me too!) and even went to uni in Liverpool.

Ah, my boys - they did me proud!

I've actually got a selection of autographs from ebay - so frankly who knows how authentic they are! Have met David Boreanaz & Vincent Kartheiser so at least I know those ones are real! But I'd love to get Charisma's.

On a connected note, I do feel sorry for the guys attending the Starfury event - but, Adam could join up with them in the evening.

We had this issue at Serenity with Adam cancelling, but, these contracts are not set in stone & guests can & do cancel.

Another option could be for Adam to do the LF&CC for 1 day and Starfury on the other, at least it would please more people.

Oh boy, is this going to cause some bad blood.

Just checking out the posts over at Starfury and apparently Sean was told that Adam couldn't afford the time off from The Insider - and now this.

Obviously I'm thrilled that Adam will (hopefully!) be at the event I'm going to but there's got to be a better way of doing things than this.

Still - here's hoping Adam's people feel they owe Sean something and can get him for Serenity 2.

It was advertised in the Buffy Magazine about joss, but, who knows what will happen for sure?

I think, maybe there should be a thread of what to say to Adam (keeping it sensible) about his feelings on cancelling yet another Starfury Event - I don`t want to be the messenger, but maybe we can get the message to him.

Personally, I think it has nothing to do with the actor but rather his agent & Universal - for they will be the ones who dictate what, when, how & why.

Given the speed at which the queue will no doubt be moved along, I don't think there'll be much time for passing on messages...

Considering the number of posts on this board, the official site, Starfury & Showmasters this evening - somehow I reckon word will get back to Adam's camp...

They have a selection of photos you can choose from or you can bring your own item (same cost whatever you get signed).

No photo sessions hon, and depending on the size of the queue you might even be a bit rushed to even take one yourself

I'm not making this sound very good am I? I've only been to one LFCC and only bought one autograph - Billy Boyd, if you're wondering - maybe someone else has more experience of their events and could add to this?

Autographs are usually £10-£25 per signature. They can be more expensive for big name stars. If there is time you can take photographs of the stars for free when you get the autograph. You bring your own item or there are photos.

You can be waiting a long time to get the autograph, but you don't have to queue. They have a ticket system which means you can visit the stalls.

It's cheap if you only want a couple of autographs, but if the entire cast and Joss turn up you will need a loan.

I have perused the other sites and I have to say it is a bit sad that people are so quickly willing to turn on our BDH's. At least give Adam a chance to explain.

I'm away from my computer for a day and look what happens! While I'm gutted for the people going to the Starfury event, I am happy that I'll get the chance to meet Adam. It's just a shame his appearance at the event will be in these circumstances.

I've been to a few Showmasters events and you always get a free photo when you buy an autograph. As you're paying per autograph, you can usually get a free photo even if you're getting a personal item signed (depending on the steward).

You're usually allowed to take a photo of you and the guest when getting the autograph, just ask the guest nicely. However, if the guest is incredibly busy, there will be signs posted stating 'no posed photos allowed'.

The following link will tell you pretty much all you need to know about attending:

Well certainly when I went last year, I picked up a photo even though I got a personal item signed. So I certainly hope it was free...! They had a selection on tables by each guest's queue.

The thing is, even though the photos are free, with so many stalls the chances are you'll see something (like I did!) and think "that's the perfect thing to get signed" - argh, more money spent!

Well, I wasnt planning to attend, because I thought the ticket prices would be pretty hefty! But £5 is good! And I don't mind spending a fair bit of money for Adam's autograph!

Considering I would have been buying a ticket to Quortoth just to meet Adam, that isn't too bad.

And hopefully, I could get a quick snapshot with Adam!

Although, my digital camera isn't fantastic.

Shame they don't do photo sessions!

Eitherway, hopefully Ill get a photo done with Adam at the Dec LA Flanvention - which I am considering slaughtering my bank accounts to go to!

Are the photos available like the 10x8's at Starfury?

In the autograph queue just before you pay the steward, they'll have a table with a few choices of 10x8 photos to choose from. Usually you can sneak a peak at the photos before you queue, so if you decide you want something else, you can buy something from one of the many stalls.

Though autograph prices are only usually know on the day, you can usually tell by looking at the MSPG website (a sponsor of the event). They normally have most of the guests on there as a pre-order and add £10 onto the autograph price on the day. e.g. If they are asking for £25, the guest will be £15 on the day. Going by this, Adam will be £15.

Hey PR, great to hear you're probably coming!

Yep, the photos will be 10 x 8, no worries there (I'm thinking of printing out one of my wallpapers to get signed - look pretty shiny on 10x8 and will be something unique. Already got one picked out for Charisma).

Just don't get there too late - Adam's bound to be a popular guest. You might want to consider the early bird (£10.00).

Darn - looking at the train timetable and can't see me getting there before 8.30.

You should take your mudders milk poster! That would be cool!

And I haven't asked/convinced my mum yet...

And I'd have to miss work, which is always tricky!

But I'll be going on the train and tube again - not fun!

Hopefully I'll get a photo with Adam! I don't know what to do! Shall I get one on my digicam? I can't print high quality photos though...but I think one of my friends has a proper photo printer...and I could pay her money to maybe print one off for me...or shall I buy a throwaway camera...and take a chance that it will come out?

Summer riding an elephant??? OK, someone needs to change their medication!

Don't pin your hopes on getting a photo with Adam - if the queue's really long there might not be time for that. As for printing it, I'd certainly be happy to do that for you (no charge!) if you take yourdigital (I'd go with that option so you know exactly what shots you got).

As for the LA thing - I wish!

On a general note though, I'd recommend www.ofoto.co.uk or www.photobox.co.uk for(fairly) cheap, fast digital developing.

Looks like there'll be quite a gang going...

Thanks, thats so cool! Browncoats is nice!

I'm really in two minds about the LA con...it'd be expensive, but I could afford it...but its so much, think what else I could do with the money....on the other hand, theres a chance the whole cast could be there...and that would be so special, I may never get that chance again, plus, LA, would be cool...

I'm really in two minds about the LA con...it'd be expensive, but I could afford it...but its so much, think what else I could do with the money....on the other hand, theres a chance the whole cast could be there...and that would be so special, I may never get that chance again, plus, LA, would be cool...

Oh!

What your witnessing here is the internal struggle of my mind.

Ok, I don't check for 24 hours and look what happens!

I must admit to reading about Adam on the Starfury boards but it was only when I went on the LFACC site that I realised that this was where he was going to be.

I gotta say that I really feel for the Quor'toth people and IMO this is VERY underhand. I would imagine that Sean is fuming and rightly so.

I've also heard from a very reliable source that Joss is definitely not going to be there.

Fray I gotta say I'd get one of your wallpapers signed I know from personal experience the stars react different if you put something that you've made/drawn in front of them.

PR I'm hoping to get to LA in December as well but I have to sell my house first!!!

I wonder where joss will be if hes not going to be at either con - we can still hope, afterall, it is quite a major event and the Serenity Comic will be out soon.

The continuing saga of Adam...

Stevie B's posted this over at the Universal Board (what do we can that one again? Anyway, you know the one). Anyhow, this throws a slightly different light on matters:

Quote:

Dear Showmasters forum members, Giggle and Rowan, and event promoters using this forum for their own ends.

It saddens us to yet again have to make a statement and waste our time quashing slanderous rumours about our behavior within fandom, and deal with negativity which only serves to spoil the guest announcement. People often do not realise that the guests themselves do sometimes read these forums and the garbage written about their appearance. Could it be that some of these so called fans actually want the guests to be put off from attending this or any other event at all?

So here is the truth. In the early hours of the morning on June 2nd we were contacted by Mr Baldwin's appearance agent, a company we have worked with several times before. Mr Baldwin had been approached about possibly attending an event and meeting the fans of Firefly over here, however we were informed that the offer to appear at this convention had been withdrawn by the organiser. I was also told the reason for the UK convention organiser withdrawing his offer was down to an imposed deadline of the 1st of June for Mr Baldwin to decide on his flight days. The organiser gave Mr Baldwin an ultimatum, to fix his schedule by the end of the day or the offer that had been forwarded to appear at the convention would be retracted. The organiser felt he could not delay in booking his flights as available seats for that time were running out, however as it was apparent that Mr Baldwin's shooting schedule for his new show had not yet been fixed he would be unable to confirm anything at such short notice. The convention organiser was informed of this and was asked if he could be a bit more flexible. Unfortunately it seems he felt this was not an option and did retract his offer to Mr Baldwin, withdrawing his offer.

This information was related to us, as well as the fact that Mr Baldwin and his family were hoping to take a trip to Europe and were looking forward to meeting fans in the UK before the offer was withdrawn. His agent asked us if we were willing to book him for LFCC to replace the previous offer, on the understanding that his flights needed to be booked as late as possible to fit in with his shooting schedule. We checked that the previous convention offer was definitely dead in the water, and were assured that it was definitely over, as was confirmed to the agent by the previous organiser himself. We were also informed that the previous offer had never been formally accepted and permission had not been given to announce Mr Baldwin's potential appearance. It was only once we knew there were no conflicting offers or confirmed appearances that we decided to take up the offer of Mr Baldwin's appearance at LFCC.

On a personal note we are sorry that this statement needed to be made, but we felt we should let those of you who always look upon us as the aggressors know that this simply is not the case. We have been accused of aggressive practices before and have been vindicated every time (for example over Chris Judge and Corin Nemec). Let us make this clear, these accusations will always be wrong, poaching is something that we would never do and never will do and these lies you are feeding other people just make you look stupid. Please don't let other organisers manipulate this forum to save their reputations or to cause trouble.

ok - 'tis a long and winding thread now

besides this bizarre and frankly slightly disturbing idea any other thoughts???

my brain ain't in full thinking mode today so i'll just ramble and maybe someone'll make some sense of it all

- still not sure whether i can make it to the con - as i'm not interested in autographs i wouldn't go for that it'd be cool to meet some BDHs though if they do any talks - even if Joss doesn't come is it likely they'll be something else?

just about managing to play hero of canton on the guitar so that could be fun

or i could just wander round all day supplying browncoats with chocolate and jam - THAT could be interesting
