BLACKOUTNIGHTS

I love the whole concept of these advance screenings. And I think it's great that they are selling out quickly though I as of yet have not been one of the fortunate.

Knowing the tickets were going on sale today (Thurs, June 9), I called the theater this morning outside of Atlanta and the guy told me tickets were indeed on sale and that I could drive to the box office to purchase them. On my way out to the car to do just that I changed my mind...considering the distance and the chance tickets would go on sale on fandango and sell out before I got there. Probably a wise decision as that did happen.

I had the same problem as many others with Fandango, finding the advance screening for the movie was on sale, but the actual ticket screen never loaded. After spending about half an hour of my time, I decided it just wasn't worth it.

Bitter? No. A little disappointed? Sure.

I don't doubt there will be other such screenings in July and Aug., but really...Sept. 30 will be here before you know it. Maybe all of us around metro Atlanta and North Georgia can get together in September before or after the movie and have a big blow-out. That'd be cool.

I think the process of the advance screenings is getting better to give everyone a fair shot of getting a ticket, but I don't think it's quite been mastered yet.

I don't know. Until I hear differently I will strongly suspect that most, if not all, of the tickets sold for Atlanta were sold at the box office. I don't think I could have gotten my order in any faster. I literally hit refresh, saw no screening, hit refresh, saw the screening, already logged in selected the number of tickets and checked out without having to even enter my CC number, and I still didn't get my ticket as the system failed during the processing.

Still, while I admit I'm still steaming a bit, and I wish I'd been able to at least try at the box office, I do applaud your philosophical take on this. Yes, I (we) will survive until September but it sure is a hard pill to swallow having the tickets practically in my hand, waiting only for the confirmation screen only to loose them. Also frustrating is that already tickets for Atlanta are on Ebay.

Yeah, the Ebay thing is really frustrating. But that's more the fault that people would actually buy and support that system than anything else. It'd be great if no one bought those tickets and they were stuck with them. Chances of that happening are slim.
