Yes. Some scenes are done w/ puppets and models suspended on strings against a poster board back drop of a star field. Those things should be touched up by the premier date.

from what i hear, they need to touch up some parts like the lighting, and add in the actual score, but other than that the movie that will be screened on the 23rd wont be too much different from the one in september.

Generally this is what has been reported from previous screenings, all stuff that is taken care of in post-production. I think it's pretty safe to say that the movie is in good shape and that these things, if still present in this latest screening, won't detract too much from the experience.

- music. there's placeholder music from other films instead of the actual score.

- visual effects. some shots are not fully polished yet but everything is pretty much shiny.

- color timing. this means adjusting the brightness, contrast, and even colors of parts of the frame to make it look mighty fine. all movies go through this. some more than others. watch the documentary on this on one of the LOTR movies (i forget which one but i think fellowship (don't know EE or not)) and some of the stuff they do is extraordinary.

The film they had in Seattle on May 23rd was definitely a bit grainy looking - but I actually kinda liked it like that! It was so neat to see a partially-completed film and I thought it really suited the mood and character of the movie. Though I'm sure it'll be nice all slicked-up and pretty too!
