Hmmm, I can see I'll end up getting two. Because I just know I'll take the DVD to Serenity2 as my badger thingy, and OK, so Adam MIGHT be there too (we won't go down that road just yet!) but to be on the safe side...

Curses, need more money!

So it definitely is like approx £20 (give or take whatever) per eac autograph?

Anticipate £15-25.00. Depends on the star.

If you go over to the forum at http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?s=bf3e1364402a3274323086
ed92c0b390&act=SF&f=46
and hunt around you should find some old posts about anticpated prices. If I remember rightly, someone had posted that Adam would only be £15.00 but I'm not convinced...

OK, just got this email from Showmasters. So for those you who haven't managed to venture over to their website, here's what they have to say:

Quote:

LONDON FILM AND COMIC CON UPDATE

The London Film and Comic Con is returning to the capital city, and this time it’s bigger and better than ever before!

This Summer movie stars from around the world will be descending on London for the movie and media event of the year, and you’re all invited!

On the 25th and 26th June 2005 Showmasters will be running their third LONDON FILM AND COMIC CON event at Earls Court in London, England, and have already signed up over 30 celebrities including top Hollywood producer Glen A. Other attractions include a massive dealers hall with specialist companies from around Europe and the USA selling a wide range of merchandise. From replica lightsabres to original posters from the greatest classic films ever made, toys, autographs, movies, replica swords, books, comics, cards, and even original movie props and costumes, there will be everything to keep the big kid in all of us happy!
And as if that wasn’t enough there will be a range of free talks and displays running throughout the weekend as well as exclusive competitions and giveaways. It will take a whole two days just to take everything in!

The show has grown into an annual mega-event, with many of the major film distributors and merchandise companies giving sneak previews of their forthcoming attractions and promoting the latest releases. Though autograph prices are only usually known on the day, you can usually tell by looking at the MSPG Autograph website, which sponsors the event. They offer an autograph pre-oder service for fans who can't attend and add £10 to the price of the autograph that they obtain on the day.
e.g. If they are asking for £30 for an autograph the price at the event will be £20. Going by this someone like Charisma Carpenter will be £20.

Adam's pre-order autograph is £25, therefore he'll be £15 at the event, though of course I could be wrong.

It's probably just best to assume he'll be £20, therefore if he turns out to be £15, you're left with more money than you expected.

I've been to 3 events run by these organisers and the only guest I've ever seen at £25 was Carrie Fisher. Not even Elijah Wood or James Marsters charged over £20 per autograph, so I highly doubt Adam will charge £25.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, I read that on the forum too - thanks for explaining it as it's probably buried away now!

Certainly if Adam's £15.00 I guess I can stretch to two items!

Still not holding any hope for that I'm afraid - and if they do announce him I just KNOW it will be for Sunday when I can't go!

But never mind - still lots to look forward to anyway! Can't believe how much some of the forum members at Showmasters are still bitching & still waiting for the "big" guests to be announced. I was thrilled just to be going to see Charisma - now I have three or four autographs to queue for, a trailer to see and freebies to collect! No complaints from me, that's for sure.

Well, on the official movie board awhile bck when they 1st announced the LF&CC - they did say 2 Guests *TBA* - now reading into that, maybe they have got someone else lined up and if so, it `s going to be a real shame to miss Sundays talk - atough, trying to getmyelf to Earls court on Sunday in my car would be problomatic (and isn`t the congestion charge at that point too?)

Still, Can`t complain too much, I`ll see if the martian fighting machine will be friends

I’m a newbie/lurker around here so I thought why the hell don’t I just chuck myself in at the deep end and check out the con.

How early do you think I’d need to get there if I wanted to get autographs from Adam and Charisma at a reasonably civilised time?

Is it true you can put your name down for the UK premier screenings of Serenity?

Please forgive my complete ignorance about the entire event, it’s a first for me. It’s just as well that I’ve just been paid, I’m going to be cleaned out after being faced with the prospect of the stalls and the autographs… oooh, I’m all excited now (and slightly nervous, I won’t be crushed in the throngs will I???)

Hey stranger, glad to hear you're still coming! But this "late morning" nonsense - jeez!

You're only allowed to collect one ticket per queue so could be a little tricky - depends whether the steward recognises you if you go up a second time I guess!

Apparently, according to the handy guide that you posted a link to, it said we could get as many VT tickets as we wanted to queue for. You can only get one at a time. So you have to queue for each ticket.

Exactly - you have to go to each Guest's queue to collect your ticket, and you can only get one for each queue at a time. But you can hold different tickets for different guests at the same time.

Here's a bit more info from Showmasters:

Quote:

The Virtual Queue

This is a simple way to eliminate the need for visitors to stand around for hours at end.

If you can imagine a Queue of 600 people, stretching away, waiting to get an autograph, well, that what we are dealing with if we don't have a system in place.

If there is a long Queue more than 30 people, everyone gets a ticket for that particular guest.
These numbered tickets are guest and day specific.

REMEMBER, if you want a friend or parent to join you in the Q later, THEY MUST be there to be issued with a Virtual Q ticket, it is stritly one ticket per person.

Everyone in the Queue, and that includes the first 30 waiting in the queuing area, are given a numbered ticket, which then represents their place in the Queue.

People are then free to wander off and enjoy the show, grab a coffee, go to a guest with a quick queue or even get a Virtual Queue ticket for another guest.

Then when your number or a higher number is displayed on a board next to the ‘REAL’ queue you may join this short queue.

We also announce the current number over the tannoy and we write it up on large White Boards placed around the hall.

So, lets say the first 30 people get autographs, the person Queue ticketing, writes on the board 60, and announces “UP TO 60” this now means that anyone with ticket 60 or less may join the queuing area.

This continues apace all day. We have found that increments of 30 works well.

You do not need to be ready to join the Q as soon as your number is called, once your number is surpassed, you can join the Q at any stage after this, you never lose your place, so there is no panic, if you are busy elsewhere.

There is a wait, but no where as long as it could be, you normally won't have more than 30 people ahead of you, and this clears through fairly fast, although we must admit, it may feel longer, as you approach your favourite guest!

It is expected that most guests can see 600 visitors, but there are no promises made, and there is little point in giving out Virtual Q tickets past 800 people, so we no don’t.

Some guests, do not need the system, they have a steady flow of fans and if they don’t have more than 20 or so people in the queuing area, we wont use the system.

Each ticket is only valid for one guest visit, on the day it is issued. No tickets are issued for the following day in advance.

Quote:

You do not pay for the Virtual Tickets they are free. You pay per autograph when you come back and get into the queue.

Virtual Tickets are given out ONE PER PERSON, you will only be given one ticket. If you want to get a ticket for a friend there is nothing stopping you from joining the queue again and getting another ticket Just remember it will only be one ticket for each time you queue up.

The Virtual Tickets start to be given out at when http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=22&k=the%20doors" onmouseover="window.status='the doors'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">the doors open.

Once you have your VTs you then wait for your numbers to come up. If you don't want to have to keep going back to the guests queue to see what number they are up to, you can check one of the white boards that will be positioned around the event.

The numbers shown are for any number UPTO that number. You can go up anytime after your number is called. So if you have ticket number 100 and the board is showing 200, this is fine, you haven't missed your turn.

Cally, what time do you think you'll get there? Guests aren't expected to start signing until around 10 - by the time I've got my VT, waited for my number to come up, queued to meet Adam chances are you'll be there anyway?

Cally, thanks for the mobile number, i have sent a text message in return so you have my number, hope to see you there!

A plea for help - Remember People, that your mission at the LF&CC is to collect as much stuff as possible to help out with the Memorabelia Fantable in August.

I`ve got a few flyers for people (note: for anybody who asks or is interested, or would like a few for distribution amongst fans)

The main Earls Court building is literally outside the station. Just follow the crowds of strangely dressed people from there...

Be prepared for lengthy queues outside Earls Ct on Saturday morning.

Reading the LFACC forum, lots of people are aiming to get there for 7am (or earlier!) because Val Kilmer's only signing for a few hours. And of course those people may also be getting Adam's etc...

Just a word of warning!

Don`t worry, I just thought I would confirm the mobile number - I`ll be in the queues from about 915 all going well

so I guess going by the FAQ, that will mean mid afternoon before getting autographs - of course might be different but, we`ll just have to wait and see.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

I`ve lost my mobile phone!

I`ve put a bar on it so it can`t be used by just anybody, even so, I appologise if people try to contact me. I`m hoping to get soemthing organised in the way of a new phone soon, but maybe not soon enough - I will have other peoples numbers written down unless somebody else could volunteer as a central contact

You just don`t realise how useful a personal mobile phone is (even if you don`t use it regularly)

I will however have my works mobile on me and will PM others, but it will limited use (I`m monitored)

Of all the times for this to happen, it had to happen this week

Once again appologies everybody,

Darin (Zol.)

I`ve just PM`d a few people with my works phone, I can`t use it too much for personal calls/text but at least I will be contactable!

Updated weather report - "Cloudy" for Saturday (who are they trying to fool!)

Those who chose Glastonbury better take a boat, I hear it`s dreadful!

Sunday looks to be better overall, but we`ll have to wait and see, at the moment there`s thunder & lightning (not to mention the fact that once today already we had thunder & lightning at the same time becuase it was so Gorram close!)
