I've found something fun to do while waiting for September...

Go to the Hollywood Stock Exchange ( HSX.com ) and open a free account. You can buy and sell "stock" in current and upcoming movies with the money they start you off with...

I sunk my $$ in Serenity, of course.

Current value, $48.92 per share up +.76 today.

Just another way to get the BDM out there!

Besides, we can't have Serenity "cost" less than that Herbie the Love Bug crap!

I couldt buy 20.000 cuz i had all my money into Alan Tydik and Nathan Fillion stocks.. i sold a small ammount of them to buy more Serenity stocks since that went down though.

I just bought mine. I am assume the Box office for Serenity is going to be in the area of $150M, which makes these stocks a steal at $48.00.

I've made 1.3 million on it since it IPOd.

If you just created an account and want to get more funds, look into playing "reset" - it happens every night when all the stock price changes reset to zero. The first ones to move tend to move a lot.

Also, if you buy into movies the day before they open, you can make a killing on the adjust (adjusts are made on Sundays, usually, and for example, BAT5 adjusted down nearly fifty points ... 50,000 short shares * $H50 = ... uh, lemme count ... darn, ran out of fingers). Anyway, stocks are halted from opening day and don't trade again until after adjust.

TickerTalk on the Community Page can be a good source for rumors on stock movements, and for completely inane drivel (is there a better kind?).
