Wondering if anybody has any thoughts on showing up to the screening without any tickets?? Has anyone had any luck finding an extra ticket at the movie theatre?? Any tips?? Just really would like to attend the screening......

I've noticed that these screenings have been selling out really fast, but just like any other event of this ilk, I'll bet you scalpers will be present. So if you go without a ticket, I'd say it's entirely possible you'll get in. If you're willing to pay an exhorbitant price, that is.

Thanks for the response. Thats pretty much what I figured as far as the scalpers go. Any thoughts on how much cash I should bring?!?!?

If you check over on the Universal Board, there are threads for the various locations. Several of them that I've seen have had people that are intentionally going with extra tickets for people who show up without. I'd check the threads first, but it might be worth a shot. Most of the people are selling them for face value. Skip the scalpers.

I went to the last round of advance screenings without a ticket with little hope of getting one, but wanted to meet up with other Browncoats. Lo and behold, another Browncoat had gotten extra tickets and was selling them at cost to those who hadn't gotten so lucky. Her reason: she had gone to the first screening (after travelling many many miles) without a ticket and without much hope but found a Browncoat who had an extra to sell at cost. Your fellow Browncoats may surprise you. If nothing else, you'll get to meet and chat with others who are as excited about our BDHs as you are. Good luck!

sugarbear1,

im relatively new to the browncoat community, but thats a great story and one that i keep hearing about firefly fans. ill keep a guarded optimism, and thanks for the post. like you said, even if there arent available tickets, the atmosphere should be fun and worth checking out!!

At the last screening in Portland, there were a few people out front clamoring for tickets. Security asked them to leave at one point, but later said it was okay for them to be there, but without their signs. They bonded (awwww). Right before the movie started, someone noticed that there were a couple empty seats, so they let one or two people in without tickets.

Obviously, that was an isolated incident. I wouldn't count on it happening again, but I don't see any harm in trying.
