There will be a Firefly presence at CONvergence (Bloomington 494/Hwy 100) July 1-3.

Thanks to Haughty Elf and the Southern Cross Freetraders, we'll have a lush rendition of Inara's shuttle - room 403 - with what I'm told is an awesome DVD/LCD projector.

The Minnesota Independents are putting together the refreshments - so you know it'll be yummy.

We hope to see you there.

HELL'S KITTEN

Okay, I've been in MN for about 8 years now and have heard about CONvergence for quite a while now from various people. I still have no idea what it is. Can you please enlighten me?

YOU GORRAM ROCK!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for my ticket to the show tomorrow evening.

As for CONvergence. It's the biggest science fiction convention in the Twin Cities. This is the 8th year, I think.

We'll all be there (the usual suspects) and we'll be looking for your beautimous self.

It's a convention that has a little bit for everyone. Parties, drinking, music, panels and discussions, costuming, anime, coffee, and so much more. It doesn't focus on one aspect of fandom but celebrates them all. Movies, TV, books, comics, video games, role playing games, almost anything you're into can be found there.

It's one of the few conventions I make the time to get to every year. Life stops for CONvergence at my house (my basement is currently wall to wall costumes, and packing for con already, and it's not for a week).

Does anyone know how much tickets for CONvergence are? I'm interested in going for 1 day. Do they sell them per day or is it like a weekend pass thing?

For those who might not be informed - particularly you who just
joined - The Southern Cross Freetraders (Ranger's group) and the
Minnesota Independents (us) are co-hosting a Firefly viewing party
at CONvergence. Actually, there will be two parties, as it's running
both Friday and Saturday nights.

EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD IS INVITED. Bring a friend. Heck, bring a few
friends. Expose them to this wonderfully warm fandom and the series
at the same time.

IMPORTANT: YOU DO NOT NEED A MEMBERSHIP TO ATTEND!
All room parties are open to the public and no badges are required
to gain entrance. We're running a "dry" room, however several groups
will be serving alcohol, and those groups have the right to card
you - that means providing a valid picture ID, not a convention
badge. If you'd like to explore more of the convention, you will
need a badge to get into convention spaces such as the dealer's
room, the art show, etc.

Sheraton Bloomington Hotel (formerly known as Radisson South)
7800 Normandale Blvd, Bloomington, MN 55435
