Haven't seen Sin City but most reviews have been very good - however whilst I love Robert Rodriguez's films, might I suggest you look for something a bit more light-hearted?!

I saw Sin City with two other females and they enjoyed it so it isn't a gender attitude, more that it's a film with a lot of style and cool moments but not so much character development and depth. I found it a fun ride though.

sin city... not as good as i hoped, but i have high expectations. i did love one of the stories in it. go see it! or for something more light hearted.. hmm ... well there doesnt seem to be "light" in the cinema these days.

okay, if someone can find me a bowler hat i'll be that james bond henchman ;)

I loved it. Fun, drama, some comedy, action, lots of greyscale gore. And really cool besides. Excellent.

Am still waiting for Emma's verdict on "Sin City". I love all of Robert Rodriguez's films (as I rambled to him!), but haven't got round to seeing this one. R1 DVD is out fairly soon but gather it's extras free :(

I didn't go see it in the end - my mate and I were about to leave until we noticed that the film had already started - ah well that is what beer does to a girl (although to be fair he is a bloke). We ended up discussing the state of Dutch cinemas instead. I went to see Batman Begins the other day (amazing) and half way through the film there was a 15 minute break! This is common here but it shocked the hell out of me. Talk about ruin the atmosphere, plus in the cinema people never shut up and they have a go if you ask them to be quiet.

Maxwell has gone! Thank god, what a bastard! I can't see it over here (boo-hoo) but saw some when I was in England and within a few days I came to appreciate how horrid he was. Let me know if he got booed.

I flicked through the mag just to see the article. It has a nice big arrow pointing to it saying "Don't worry, no spoilers". And then they promptly unleash a huuuuuuuuge spoiler. Ridiculously big. I'm one of the lucky ones who can't be spoiled but there must be tens of thousands of SFX readers who will buy and read the magazine and go into the movie knowing a huge central point from the start that is only supposed to be revealed 3/4 of the way in.

SerenityPunk, I highly recommend you watch My Little Eye, very akin to your suggestion. Only with, you know, murder and stuff. I have seen just one episode of Big Brother in the past 5 years although it was a corker. There was a surprise new housemate and he deliberately smashed up a camera then escaped the house to take on the Daleks. No, that was Doctor Who, wasn't it?

Haven't read the SFX article properly, just scanned it quickly but yes, their "no spoilers" claim isn't exactly 100% accurate! Ah well, had stumbled across a certain plot point (which I already had my suspicions about anyway) the other day so I'm not too upset!

The plots of either My Little Eye or Doctor Who would be more than welcome in Big Brother this year! Jeez, really must get round to watching all the extra stuff on My Little Eye - I have way too many DVDs...
