I hope Sci-Fi keeps the voiceovers. I liked them, and miss them on the DVD, especially Book's. Sure, if seen in the original sequence, they're not required, but they also serve to helpto very quickly highlight the general mood/feel/whatever of the series before the teaser even runs.

If you can survive death, you can probably survive almost anything.

Oh thank the good Lord God above in heaven that this has happened. I finally have a reason to watch Sci-Fi now. Also I know this is not necesarily the right conversation thread to post this on, but I read on the IMD that Alan Tudyk revealed that this movie is part one in a Trilogy deal with Universal. How cool is that? In my oppinion, very.

I'm not sure if it's been posted yet because I couldnt bear reading through every single post, but the Sci-Fi channel is owned by NBC/Universal, who obviously are the ones releasing Serenity. If the movie does well, I am sure that NBC will buy the television rights to the show and have it be a Sci-Fi series, much like they did with the show Sliders back in the 90s. Fox originally ran it for 3 seasons I believe, then after a hiatus, Sci-Fi made 2 more seasons. I hope to God that all the same actors return, and the quality of the show remains the same or better, however I fear that with Adam Baldwin having a new series (The Insider) this may not happen. Hopefully he will come to his senses and have his character killed off and come be Jane again. Ever since I heard Universal was releasing a movie I have suspected Firefly would turn up on Sci-Fi, and I am pleased to see at least the original episodes will be shown. My wife who isnt a big sci fi fan even loves the show. Thanks to Joss for refusing to let this quality show die.

Let me star off by saying, I absolutely adore Firefly. It is without a doubt one of the finest television shows ever made. I finally saw the trailer, tonight, when I saw Batman Begins, and I had shivers (even though I've seen it 10 times on the internet. It would be an answer to my prayers if the series was continued in TV form, so that we might find out more about the characters, the universe, and just to have one of the best shows ever made back on TV.

But I have to say, BSG is also, absolutely FAN TASTIC. I started watching the show after seeing a copy of the mini-series, and it's just top notch. The acting is fantastic (Edward James Olmos is the man), the stories are interesting I have yet to see an episode that I wasn't enthralled in, and the production value of the show is top notch. It really is on par with Firefly in so many ways, although they really are utterly different shows. I would be VERY interested to know how much those episodes cost to make, considering Firefly cost $22 mil?

I don't know what will come of Firefly on Sci-Fi, but I just want more. I don't think many people will tune in, unless NBC advertises, and people get the word out.

I am also a little worried about the movie. I have been one of the people screwed over from seeing the pre-screenings (I never get email announcements from Browncoats, and the tickets have been gone in a matter of hours in Chicago), but I just think that you need to seet he first 2 or 3 episodes of Firefly to really appreciate what this series is about. I am worried that the movie is going to be extremely action packed, to try and appeal to the masses, and not have that down to earth wonderful characters that we know and love. How can you really portray this in 2 hours?

I am pretty grateful that we get a movie in September, and a re-airing of the show. I'm just hoping that enough people get behind this show to bring it back. I have always been a big proponent of the show, and a little opposed to the movies. You really cannot get the development necessary for this kind of show in a movie.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Where did you get this number? The budget, as described on this site & the OB, was $12million for the pilot (which paid for both Serenity sets, crew costumes, a lot of 1-time design work by Zoic, recording the opening & closing credits, etc), plus $2million per ep after that, for a total of $38million. Do you have another source?

Keep the Shiny Side Up . . . (wutzon) Soulive, "Tuesday Night's Squad", from "Next"
