I just went to Amazon.Com (through the link here) to purchase my second set of DVD's thinking they were on sale for $29.99, and much to my chagrin, they are up to $49.99 List Price! I got them for $34.99 plus shipping but I'm not really complaining cause just think, if they're back up to that price how popular they must be!

BTW, I just started the conversion process of a potential browncoat.

Anyway, I'm working on getting a group together for the movie premier, but it really makes me sad when I read about all those shindigs elsewhere that I have missed. Oh well, maybe if I keep at it, I will get enough people together to throw my own shindig!

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Not surprising. With demand up for them the way it is, it makes sense that Amazon would drive their prices up to stem purchasing and maximize profit.

Too bad the fans are the ones stuck paying for it though.

I think there may be some confusion going on here. I just checked amazon and it is showing list price at 49.99 but their price as 34.99 with free shipping.

Hey! Your are very likely correct! I wasn't paying attention and they probably didn't charge shipping. Thanks, now I feel better!

Overstock.com has it for $28.99, and their shipping is $1.00.

Right now it says they have limited inventory. If they're out when you try to order, check back. They restock.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

It was previously reported on this site that Amazon reduced their price on Firefly from US$35 to US$30 when it reached their top 10. It recently fell back below that (now out of the top 25); I'd show you the link to Amazon rankings, but it would probably just depress you. If it's any consolation, I missed the US$10 discount by a day because I misremembered when it expired, and that had been accurately announced well in advance.
