You're wrong. Serenity is being released in Australia on September 29. Which just happens to be its wide release world premiere.

There are also some advance screenings around the place. I'm going to one at the Gold Coast (Robina Birch Carol and Coyn) on Friday 22 at 8:30 pm.

I can't wait

The Gold Coast one will still be unfinished correct?

I'd love to go but I think I'd like to hold out until the final release seeing as its only two months away now.

I was looking around the "browncoats" posting boards at serenitymovie.com and found this post about the Serenity Screenings in Australia. The post appears to come from United International Pictures and seems legit. This is what they had to say about the screenings in Australia:

"Browncoats,

UIP Australia would like to inform the passionate supporters of 'Serenity' as to the state of the print they will be watching at advanced screenings soon.

The film is 90% complete. Minor cuts may be made before release, but most of the work will be in completing the film's soundtrack.

What you will enjoy at the advanced screenings will be very close to the final version as Joss wants it.

You can't stop the signal,

UIP Australia"

Sounds pretty cool.

A pleasant surprise.
I went to watch Sin City at the Reading cinema in Perth and saw Serenity handouts. A semi-gloss 6 (folded) page pamphlet, A4 size, with brief intro to the setting, group photograth, crew intro and a short bio of Joss. Very impressive.

Does anyone happen to know when the next serenity preview will be screening in Melbourne? Any help would be much appreciated.
