I just ran across this site http://www.mosquitoverse.com

It's hilarious. They are doing a short film spoofing Firefly (all in good fun, of course)
Check it out.

I just love their theme song:

From what I’ve read the people who made “Mosquito” are in Canada and hopefully out of reach of the FuX Corporation. Plus Parody is generally considered “Fair Use” under US Copyright law.

Yep - I agree with Gunrunner - Mosquito is parody of the likes of "Galaxy Quest." As far as I know, that's fair game legally whether you say 'zed' OR 'zee'.

As one who has made spoofs himself I know it comes from love, but spoofing works best on things that take themselves seriously. Spoofing anything Joss is difficult, since his material is so self-aware. No spoof ever made would be as funny as the funny moments in his original work.
Sorry, I just don't see the need.

Firstly, this was first mentioned weeks ago, or is this a crazy de ja vu?
Secondly, you are a party pooper! You don't see the need? They are honouring joss's work, and tho i've only seent he opening credit pilot type trailer, they're doing a good job. Okay, it's never gonna be immensly wittier than JW himself, but that's okay. It's pretty funny i reckon. Lighten up!
