Yes... it's true, it has begun.

It all started a month or two ago when my brother put Melody Assistant (a music writing program) on our computer. Now, it is finally finished, the manifest of my obsession.

The first draft of the thus far untitled first song written for Firefly: The Musical. Here for your listening pleasure in mp3 format.

Keep in mind I know diddly squat about writing music, and I wrote this by trial and error of combining random notes until the chords sounded right.

I decided against doing any vocal recording in this version, so the voices sre just done by instruments: oboe for the female voice(s) and Trumpet for the male voice(s).

Enjoy! Come wallow in my insanity! There are lyrics, maybe I'll type them up and post them sometimes.

Whoops, sorry people, false alarm, I got it. The link didn't take me there directly, but I pasted it onto my address bar and it worked just fine.

Oh Melee.
*Stares blankly in awe for a few moments*
You're so cool. This is a great song. I can't wait for the "Firefly: The Musical" written lyrics! Are you going to keep making these songs? Please do!

Thbb... stupid thing.

Sometimes geocities is like that. Try either copying and pasting the URL into another window or just right clicking on the link and downloading it.

HAH! I hadn't thought of that! I might be able to rope Saint of Cheese into doing something... but the other person coming with us has a pellet gun and pulse pistol named Dweezle... not that the idea of her singing and dancing in a Firefly getup isn't absolutely hysterical to me

Great song, although I don't think it exactly fits the mood of the show. Of course, I can't envision a "Firefly" musical at all. Will there be lyrics, too? :)

i just wanna say for the record that absolutely any story can be made into a musical and absolutely any genre of music can be employed. The basic idea is simply to tell a story with music, and I think most people limit their ideas of what a musical can be to broadway. for the record i don't mean necessarily you specifically; i'm just making a general observation.

this little rant is coming to you from someone who believes the musical genre is mostly unexplored. we have wonderful stuff so far, but we've barely cracked the surface.

It's so purdy! I can't wait to see the lyrics! keep it up, i love it, and yes anything can be made into a musical! (though the thought of a Firefly musical is both creepifyin' and hilarious!)

Yeah! And maybe a banjo or twangy steel guitar.

And how about the tambourine? I really think that instrument should be re-introduced into music today.
