Currently Firefly is being creamed in all the polls so sign up and vote and support Firefly. Believe it or not Firefly has the worse character development than any of the other shows in the poll. 8O

Firefly is beginning to beat out the rest but make your voice heard and vote. Being a Sci-fi site with many people who probably have not seen or heard of Firefly or Serenity this would be a great way to show this show exists and how many of us there are. So vote! Let's beat them all by a landslide.

I think the Best Special Effects category is a bit redundant. If you think about it, Zoic does the effects for both BSG and Firefly and I assume the same SFX company does the effects for Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis.

But yay for Firefly in leading with the votes.

That may be true, but part of what makes Firefly's DFX the best I've seen is rack focuses, whip pans, vibrating images (mimicking exterior-mounted camera shots from Saturn V & Space Shuttle), and misframed shots (to simulate hand-held camera) -- that "Cheese aspect", as Tim Minear phrased it in the Making Of. These were Joss's ideas. I'd nominate Zoic as directed by Joss Whedon.
