So how many of us are there? I know there are more of us out there. Even if you're just a lurker make your presence known here. It's time that we all got together. Besides we all need to decide where we can meetup for the premire.

That's looking better. As for the premire we'll need to find somewhere central. And I'm sure "passage aboard respective vessels" can be arranged.

I don't have all the money as of yet, but I am planning to go.

I know I'll see the movie several times. I'll just have to meet up with you at the fourth viewing. Unless I have no money, then I'll be in for an OKBDPP.

Much obliged, much obliged. Things may change, though. We have a little less than two months to wait (sounds so looooong) and I'm slowly indoctrinating my Mom into it. Other than a "Wait, which one is Mal?" lapse yesterday, she's seen five or six episodes and seems to be getting into it. I may end up seeing it with her. :D

I did have a vision, though, of getting a nice, long brown duster. Then, while standing in line, someone comes up to me... "Say, your coat is kind of a brownish color." My response, naturally, would be "It was on sale." ;-D

That's me!

My crew's making plans to go to see the midnight at the new Harkin's Theatre in Bricktown, providing they have it in the Cine Capri (which I'm expecting they will). It's (they claim) the largest screen in the state, so where better for our Big Damn Movie than a Big Damn Screen? And there's free parking for the theatre.

There's a BBQ place right around the corner with a semi-western feel that could be a great place to get some chow?

We've got a couple people talking about costumes already, if anyone else is interested!

Hey, this I like, so roughly how many in your crew? I think this is gonna be the most central location for any of us. E-mail me at. So they are showing one at Midnight on Thursday? I was gonna take Friday off from work anyway, but the drive from Tulsa to be there by midnight shouldn't bee too bad. I likes the BBQ idea as well. This could be the beginninig of some great shindigs in the future.

I'll definitely get on the email horn with you about that.

I just called the Bricktown theatre, and they said that they don't know as yet if they're doing a midnight show (since I thought I should check) and the manager wasn't sure if they would be because 'it doesn't sound like a very popular movie'.

The other larger theatre locally in the OKC metro is the Quail Springs AMC (who I also contacted), and they will not be doing a midnight show.

So, then, a more general question. I saw a few months back someone had posted about how to get ahold of Universal to find out what the distribution was going to be for the movie? Anybody remember where that was or how one goes about doing that? Since, apparently, it isn't as much of a given as I'd thought.

Great, thanks for looking around!

I also had another idea. If we wanted to call over the next few days (not all at the same time because it'll seem like it's just a group of friends) to nicely ask if they're going to be doing a midnight screening it might show them that the movie -is- popular enough that it needs one.

The number for the Bricktown Harkins is (405) 231-0137. They've always been really friendly and are very customer service oriented. And their seats are cushy.

Okay, Stillshiny and I have been a talkin' and we think that we should form a regional crew on the U board. Especially to get in on the great scavenger hunt!

The current plan is for me to be Captain and him to be #1.

So, we've been bantering about and the current suggestions are:

Team name: Red River Browncoats (Then if we have some North Texans who want to join up it's all good. And we do actually have a couple of displaced Okies in Kansas wanting on our crew.)

Ship name: We've been looking at Cherokee translations of words to give a unique feel to the ship. But, we're open to suggestions! Current ones:

Tiny Starfly = usdi noquitvga
'brown' and 'coat' = Wo-di-ge Ga-se-le-na
Fire = atsila
Fly = tvga (talking about the bug called fly), or holawa (talking about fly in the air).
Flies = tvhvga, or, holawi.
Firefly = atsila:tvga, or,
Fire Flies = atsila holawi.

---

Currently, I'm a little bit down on points to be able to start us up, but I'm working on getting them so we can get a move on!

But, any ideas on names you just can't forget?

Hey, one of the ways to help our Captain build up her crew is for her to send e-mails & get us signed up. As a crew we all earn points. So if you're interested in signing up send your e-mail address to me & I'll forward them on to her. She'll send you the invite, you drop in on the U board www.serenitymovie.com & sign up. If we really work at this she'll be able to qualify as a Captain. and then we can all jump on board as a crew. And then we're flying. It may not be much, but it's enough. Then It's all about earning credits & keeping out boat in the air.

Also if you got suggested names for our boat, make em' known.

Greetings! glad you responded I was runnin out of Young Guns II quotes.

So it looks like the Red River Browncoats just about got ourselves a captain. She just needs to get those last few qualifying credits, and then all manner of misbehavin will ensure.

If you wanna join the crew you'll need to be a member at the U-board. And the best way to do that is to get recruited by our soon-to-be captain. So just send me your e-mail and I'll see that you get a recruitment letter.

There are 18 potential OK Browncoats. 11 at FFF.net and 7 at the U-Board

As soon as Ellydragon & I get the details for a Premire shindig nailed down we'll be sending invites out to all ya'll. If you'd love to help out with the planning that would be great as well. She & I are pretty steady here at FFF.net but don't spend too much time on the U-Board. I think it would be great to have some strong representation on both and from both.

We do plan on being a bit more prevalent on the U-Board as soon as our dear Captain gets her shiny Captain's status. Then we plan on launching a crew. And we love for everybody to come along. Wanna be a part of our crew? E-mail me stillshiny@gmail.com & I'll see that you get a recruitment invite. We're thinking the name Red River Crew, which would thereby be excluding nobody. Cuz that would be rude. And we're still working on a name for our ship. Though we like the possibility of using a Navive American word, as long as no ones offended, and we can all pronounce it.

In the meantime 18 is great, but if you're still out there and haven't said anything....now's your chance. Let's not just sit back & hear about all those other great groups like Ohio & Texas & North Carolina (sorry TWG). It's time to make some noise Oklahoma. Let the misbehavin' ensue!

How's the theatre calling coming? Anybody else put in a request for a midnight show so far?

Which, also, begs the question: Which would you guys prefer? I've been pushing for a midnight show because they're loads of fun, but an opening night one would be great too. Any preference one way or the other? The important thing to me is that we're there in numbers.

Fab! I'll put that down. So far it looks like we have one on the U-board for a midnight, and we'll count thatweirdgirl as a .5 for opening night and change her to a full on 1 if she decides to come.

The point about more people and better press is a good one though, either way.
