Hi all,

Quite an impressive site you have here.

Until the Serenity trailer showed up on Apple.com I had never heard of Firefly. Four weeks or so later, I own the DVD set and have watched all but the last episode.

Wow.

I haven't felt this good about "TV" since Space: Above and Beyond. I can easily say that Firefly is the best TV I've ever seen.

My question is, is there anything that a lowly consumer such as myself can do to "help", and by "help" I mean encourage either the rumored sequel(s) or the return of the series?

After an hour or so browsing this site this is what I've found:

1. Watch Serentity. A lot. With lots of friends.
2. Buy the DVD set. (done)
3. Convert others. (in progress)
4. Guerilla marketing -- relocating DVD boxes to "eye-level", etc.

Anything else? Write letters? What actually makes a difference?

You've pretty much got all the basics down there (good job!). Watching Serenity and getting every other warm-blooded body you know to watch Serenity (or, heck, buy empty seats, same money comes in either way). What comes of the property depends largely on how well the movie does. Though, sharing the DVDs has always proven to be the best way to get people interested in the movie.

Welcome.

The biggest thing is word of mouth. And swaggy items in noticable places. For example mini posters in your work area. Or some of the different T-shirts make great conversation starters. *trying not to sound like a pitiful self promoter*

I also would recommend listening to "The Signal" it's a podcast. But in short it's a 1 hr MP3 style radio show about Firefly. You can listen to it on your PC. It's awesome, and it also shares great ideas for getting the word out. They are at www.serenityfirefly.com

I have on rof the comic books on my coffee table. It's a great conversation starter.

Hi bommer, and welcome to your new second home! We're a friendly bunch, and we're all here because we love the show.

As for what you can do to help, the mainest and bestest thing you seem to be doing - making converts. The more converts, the more people we have spreading the word about the movie. The more people going to see the movie, the more money it makes, and the better the chances for sequels. Really pretty simple!

As far as the series returning........ well, nothing is impossible, but we really don't see it happening.

Again welcome, you are among friends!

Thanks for all of the responses.

The Signal podcast is really quite good. I've made it through half of the first episode so far and have subscribed via iTunes.

Are the "mini-posters" you are referring to available online somewhere or are they more informal?

Thanks again, all. I'll be around.

EMBERS

Welcome Bonner!
Have you been to the 'official' site Universal put up?
http://browncoats.serenitymovie.com/serenity/?fuseaction=tools.invlink
&u=embers&linkID=36

it is a cool site and they have suggestions for promoting the movie,
if you live in the LA area they want you to come to the studios and be recorded raving about the show! August 17th from 5-10 pm
If you live in Australia there are more Advanced screenings scheduled...
same goes for Great Britain.

But you know? If you just plan on going to see 'Serenity' with all of your friends many many times,
then THAT is the best thing for getting a BD sequel!

btw, Space: Above and Beyond, was a pretty good show and I hope Fox puts it out on DVD. Different from Firefly but good.

Not really. Basically find something off the Blue sun room & print it off & hang it up. Also you could set some Serenity or Firefly wallpaper on your computer.

Thanks again, all.

I have been to the official movie site, but haven't yet spent much time there. On the list.

The 11th hour posters are great! There is quite a bit of work in them.

S:AAB was indeed a great show. I found a guy in England that sells DVD copies of a set of "brodcast tapes", and bought a set. They aren't great, probably no better than a good recording from the SciFi channel, but better than nothing. Anyway, off topic...

Thanks again.
