Rel-I read it, and I didn't like the existential stuff either. It's very bleak and depressing. I remember studying it in high school. We read this horribly depressing french existentialist novel. Hated it.

But most of the rest of the book was great.

Whats existentialism?

Plus, how does everyone else feel about pizza?

"We're all just floating in space" is the existensialism one. The dark and complicated philosophical essay. Just wasn't really that interesting, not in so much detail anyway.

Pasta can be very nice with the right 'other stuff'. Pizza, on the other hand... is the best. Meaty pizzas are heaven in circular food form.

Carol-I've got one too! We can be miserable together.

I looooooove pizza. Especially white ones, all garlicy with spinach and broccoli and oregano.

For three days my printer hasn't worked. I tried everything. Finally get some guy from India on the phone and it turns out it's on the wrong port drive or something. I clicked one little button and it works. I'm torn between being elated that it finally works and incredibly frustrated that all this time it was this one stupid little teeny thing.

Need cookies.

PR- oh thank you thank you for the head massage! I adore head massages. Will you brush my hair next?

Spin-I agree! Printers that print chocolate chip cookies. Great idea!

what's paracetemol? It is related to tylenol?

The pizza thing's a great idea, but drinking all the vodka would just give me a bigger headache, IRL.

Besides, I have neither pizza nor alcohol. I have cookies and water. Lots and lots of water. (most headaches are actually signs of dehydration, did you know that?)

broccoli is lovely in stir fry or with cheese or just as a plain old vegetable but the thought of it on pizza - well you might as well add carrots or, come to think of it, any vegetable at all. Mushrooms are fungi, tomatoes are fruit - neither count.

Veggies and pizza don't mix!

Want to see pizza based horror? Here in Edinburgh the deep fried pizza is popular, along with its evil little sisters the deep fried mars bar and cream egg. The sight of one is enough to stop your heart.

Compared to that I'd take broccoli on my pizza!

Oh and up here a Chav is a Ned - equally bad but with the funniest accent in the gorram universe!

The deep fried mars bar - only had one once and that was after a fair few pints of the local version of mudders milk. Fair to say it lived up to expectations! Imagine a hot super sweet battered sausage which explodes all down you when you bite it!

Definitely something to add to the things to do before you die list.

Just read the Firefly - Enterprise crossover essay in 'Finding Serenity'.

I've not read anything so funny or so absolutely true in ages. The Serenity crew would be ruling the pansie-ass Trek galaxy in less than a year, while the Enterprise crew would be wiped out in seconds by the first average person they met.

The whole book is worth getting just for this one chapter alone! Oh, and for the one comparing Firefly to The Tick as well.

And so it came to pass that the Marmite wars began.

From apparently nowhere, weapons of unspeakable evil launched gooey-yeasty distruction upon mankind. Brother fought brother, Husband fought Wife - Children fled at the sight of warm toast. Ancient cities were brought to their knees by the twiglett legions. For humanity all was lost, those who had survived finally abandoned this once blue now sticky brown planet - Fled the Earth that was.

My food stances:

Marmite - possibly the nastiest food on earth.
Fried Mars Bars - not so good.
Fried Pizza - too greasy.
Fried Creme Egg - just wrong.
Scooby Snacks - superb (a snack that the Scooby van sold in Glasgow, imagine a full English breakfast in one roll)
Vegetables on pizzas - a terrible waste. I used to share with three girls in my uni flat in Glasgow and quite often three of us would want to order a pizza. There was a place that did a buy one, get one free for students and you could have two toppings on each side of the pizza. Could we agree on what the fourth should be? I kept making sensible suggestions like "Meat. More Meat. Further Meat." and they just kept saying "Well, maybe sweetcorn, that's quite like meat. Or how about extra tomatoes. Peppers are nice."

To cheer Carol up, a joke, however it may offend Catholics and those who don't like bad language (so you may want to scroll down to the next post):
Quote:

A priest took a sabbatical to a fishing lodge. On the last day of his trip he hooked a monster fish and proceeded to reel it in.

The guide, holding a net, yelled "Look at the size of that Son of a Bitch!"

"Son, I'm a priest. Your language is uncalled for!"

"No, Father, that's what kind of fish it is. A Son of a Bitch fish!"

"Really? Well help me land this Son of a Bitch!"

Once in the boat, they marveled at the monster.

"Father, that is the biggest Son of a Bitch I've ever seen."

"Yes, it is a big Son of a Bitch. What should I do with it?"

"Why eat it of course. You've never tasted anything as good as that Son of a Bitch!"

Elated, the priest headed home to the church. While unloading his gear, and his prize catch, Sister Mary inquired about his trip.

"Take a look at this big Son of a Bitch I caught!"

Sister Mary gasped and clutched her rosary, "Father!"

"It's all right Sister. That's what kind of fish it is. A Son of a Bitch fish!"

"Oh, well then what are you going to do with that big Son of a Bitch?"

"Why, eat it of course. The guide said nothing compares to the taste of a Son of a Bitch."

The Sister informed the priest that the Pope was scheduled to visit in a few days and that they should fix the Son of a Bitch for dinner.

"I'll even clean the Son of a Bitch," she said.

As she was cleaning the huge fish, the Friar walked in.

"What are you doing Sister?"

"Father wants me to clean this big Son of a Bitch for the Pope's dinner."

"Sister! I'll clean it if you're so upset! Please watch your language!"

"No, no, no. It's called a Son of a Bitch fish."

"Really? Oh, well in that case I'll fix up a great meal and that Son of a Bitch can be the main course! Let me know when you've finished cleaning that Son of a Bitch."

On the night of the Pope's visit, everything was perfect. The Friar had prepared an excellent meal, there was wine, and the fish was excellent.

The Pope said, "This is great fish, where did you get it?"

"I caught the Son of a Bitch!" proclaimed the proud priest.

The Pope's eyes opened wide, but he said nothing.

"And I cleaned the Son of a Bitch!" exclaimed the sister.

The Pope sat silent in disbelief.

And the friar added, "And I prepared the Son of a Bitch, using a special recipe!"

The Pope looked at each of them. Slowly a big smile crept across his face.

"You fuckers are alright!!"
