For those unfamilar with the term, a "Jodie" is military slang for cadences (contemporary marching songs). You've probably heard them in movies (such as Strips when they co-opted 'Pretty Women' as their cadence).

I'm costuming as a Browncoat soldier at Dragon-Con and would love to be able to have a jodie appropriate to the Firefly/Serenity -verse. Sadly I'm not lyrically inclined.

Any help crafting one would be appreciated.

Are you looking for one that's call and response, call and repeat, or just call?

This is too simple. Try this called out as a Jodie:

There's no place that I can be,
(There's no place that I can be,)
Since I found Serenity.
(Since I found Serenity.)

Call and response would be my preference.

and more Browncoat than general Firefly-verse ish...I seriously doubt that Browncoats post Battle of Serenity would make a Jodie 'bout the valley.

Ok, let's try this.

Is that Alliance that I see?
I just thought I wun gwo pee. (smelled a fart)

Nice thing is it sounds funny even if you don't know what it means.

I would die to save the day,
But that isn't my plan A.

Purple Bellies hear our cry,
Browncoats own our own damn sky!

Hey techiecl.....put me down for the parade group!!!!

With the Shindig moving so late on Friday, there is no gorram way I'm getting up at 0-dark-thirty (or just not going to bed) to put on latex and leather to ride in the parade as a Klingon for a 8AM costume call!!!

However, Browncoat, I can do in my sleep.......and it will actually make my character look a bit more haggard, which is kinda appropriate.

Prudence Harshaw Buchanan will be there with bells on! (well, not literally, cause that would scare the cows, ya know....)

(if you feel the need to classify me, put "woman who likes shootin' at people", "cattle rustler", or something like that...)
