Dutch firefly fan.

I recently (2 days ago) downloaded an episode of firefly (The Train Job). I regularly download shows that we don't get here, like Enterprise.

I downloaded the Train Job because I was bored and didn't have anything else to watch and I fell in love with the show in the first 10 minutes, before the opening song. I was heartbroken when I found out that there were only 11 episodes.

So far I've seen episodes 1 through 6, and just got finished seeing the actual pilot Serenity.

I just don't understand how something like this can get cancelled.. This group of actors seem made for eachother. The story is amazing. The whole feel of the firefly universe is so, real. And the music is absolutely perfect.

I used to be quite a Star Trek fan.. but now all I can think when I watch ST is "This damn captain is a wimp". For every Star Trek incarnation, it's taken me 2 seasons to get used to the crew.. with Firefly it took 10 minutes. Hell, I'm still not even sure which character is which in Enterprise, is "Trip" the engineer guy or the weapons guy? and if so what's the other guy called?.

In the few episodes of Firefly, it has accomplished more of a sense of a real universe and real people than Star Trek has in 37 years.

Again, if shows like this can get cancelled this easily while crappy formula sci-fi shows like andromeda and farscape are allowed to exist, I weep for the future of television.

Yes, Dutch, welcome to the club. Most, if not all, of the folks on this site feel as you do. Quite a few are also like you in that they discovered FF after it had already been aired and cancelled.

Have faith though. There's still a small chance it may return (I know, don't hold your breath). However, the more people that get turned on to the show and to this site, the better our chances will be of actually becoming a group that network bigwigs will pay attention to.

I'm a Star Trek fan too, but whenever I watch Enterprise I seem to find myself wincing a lot.

That's the strange thing.. all I read are very positive reviews (well not that strange since it's great and deserves good reviews), but yet it gets cancelled, like they wanted it to fail.

I'm glad that the dutch FOX tv station went off the air.. those guys suck

Hmmm...Maybe i shuold change my Nickname to "Swiss"!

For me it was just like for you, Dutch! For I'm from Switzerland, it takes more than a year for TV-Shows to come to Switzerland/Germany/Austria! They've just started to air the 3rd Angel-Season by now!

I watched Firefly nearly from the beginning! Every saturday I searched Kazaa for the newest episode!

Yeah Right, the just started airing Enterprise a few moths ago on Sat1 (germany)!
Which is terribly dubbed by the way.
Hope when FF comes to the German-speaking countries, if it does anyway, it's gonna be better dubbed, coz for me its the language, the way the people talk to each other in FF is great, just check the "favorite quote"-Thread

Exactly like i did!!!!!

This show is so damn addictive after the fist 2 eps i became a Firefly-junkie. Even now when i've seen all the eps over and over again it still gets me if i watch an other episode.

Damn!!! FOX suck!!!!!!

PS: What about the 3 unaired eps by the way, when are they gonna be aired in the UK?
