Ok so as ashamed as I am to admit to being a noob to the Firefly 'verse, I have to admit to it to account for the dumb questions I am going to ask in this post. Unfortunately I missed Firefly in its unfairly short run on television due to my work hours, but recently have made ammends by aquiring the box set. My wife and I actually watched the entire series in one day and have since gone back to watch several episodes a second time. And of course, we LOVED it! As much as we were Buffy/Angel fans, I am surprised with myself for not having caught it sooner. The reason I finally got around to it however is Dragoncon.

That said, what all is going down in regards to the Browncoats at Dragoncon? We have reservations in the Marquis from Thursday night through Tuesday and dont want to miss anything involving Firefly. I pretty much know whats going on thats listed over at the con's site, but I have learned from past cons that the official site barely scratches the surface.

We are looking forward to meeting other Browncoats (and fans of Joss in general) at Dragoncon. We even have our Browncoat costumes almost finished now. (do you know how hard it is to find a long sleeve, dark colored, cotton button up in Florida this time of the year?) Anyways, any information you dont mind sharing with the noob and his wife are greatly appreciated.

We shall rise again!

Not a noob, but a newbie! Yay!

OK, by now you probably know, there's a Big Damn Shindig Friday night at one of the hotels at 11-ish. Look for the Dragon*Con Shindig thread here.

Then, there's the parade Saturday morning. There's also a thread about this here - you should email Techiecl if you're gonna participate.

There's gonna be a panel with the BDHs on Friday at 4PM (the reason why I switched my flight to an earlier one, so I can get there on time). The info is also in one of the parade threads.

Saturday night is the Buffy Prom, and Sunday night, Lorne's Caritas Live (karaoke). I figured I'd throw those in since you're Buffy/Angel fans.
There's also gonna be something with Adam Baldwin regarding his role of Hamilton on Angel in the Buffy section of D*C. For more info, check www.buffydragoncon.com.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Tracy

P.S.: Feel free to bring your comics, DVD box and DVD sleeves for signing. I'm sure they'll be having some signing or other set up. I'd like to be more helpful, but so far I haven't received the D*C program on the mail, unlike others.

MAL: If anyone gets nosy, just, you know... shoot 'em.
ZOE: Shoot 'em?
MAL: Politely.

Shiny! Thanks for the information. This is gonna be a blast! As for the parade, Techiecl says there is going to be recruiting for it at the Shindig so does that mean we can decide that evening if we want to do it? (im all for it, but it always takes some coaxing for my shy wife)

Hopefully we will get to party with some of yall. Ive noticed a distinct lack of what I call "internet elitism" on this site from my readings and that always bodes well for the group.

Now I just have to stop staring at my calendar trying to force the days to pass quicker...

You are correct sir. I will be recruiting for the parade up until they have us start marching from the start point

Welcome to the ranks of the Browncoats!

In addition to the other exciting Firefly stuff already mentioned, there will be a live performance of "The Ballad of Joss" and many other songs, some of them Firefly-related, from 8 pm to 10 pm on Saturday night at the Yukon room in the Marriott. The performances will be part of the Independent Art Crawl. Come on by! The first hundred fans to purchase a CD will receive a free "Ballad of Joss" minidisc.
