Evening all. Another newbie foisting themselves on you. At length, probably. (From East London, England.)

It almost (but as you can see, didn't...) goes without saying that I'm an huge fan. Slightly obsessed, and know more of the lines by heart than is probably strictly necessary.

I found Firefly completely cold. I can't remember where I'd heard if it, and had never read any reviews, but while on holiday in New England, I saw the DVDs in a Mall. Recognized the name vaguely, splashed out the $24 (it was a while ago) and lived happily ever after.

You probably don't need to hear that all the other near compulsory traits are present and correct:

I will bend anyone who doesn't move fast enough's ear and make them watch it (though I'll only forcibly lend them my UK set, not my 4 slimline cased Yankee discs) until they agree it's rather good.

I will wait in near incontinent expectation for the BDM;

I will find myself using slightly frontiersy idioms, if my attention slips, or I can legitimately sneak them into,well...anywhere, really;

I'll also BD everything.

I kid myself that I can give it up really. Self awareness (or better still, people backing cautiously towards the door) is very important, or you all end up lollygagging and whittlin' and looking all manner of ridiculous. (I know. Too late.)

Anyway, why did I register? Ah yes. Morena Baccarin. Is she not Vivien Leigh?

She was the most beautiful woman of film....or one of them. And there is a bit of Hedy in Morena's companion look. Hot!

*NEC. Mrs G's a BSG slasher and made me go. Downright unsettlin' experience, I can tell you. Gratifying to see that the second most mobbed bit was the Firefly Stand. Only beaten by Dirk Benedict, who was pretty damn cool, really. I did try telling him that I no longer feared being locked in a barn anymore, since they all contain a V-8 and enough scrap metal and welding gear to make a reasonable tank, but he ran off...
