Getting to see the BDM AND get a grade for it

I'm in the Media Technology class over at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center up north here and I convinced my teacher (after making my class watch two episodes AND write a research paper on our loverly Firefly) to let myself and anyone else in the class who wanted to, skip out and see the movie. 12 out of 19 people in my class (so far) have agreed to go. Of course, Under one condition.

We have to write reviews for the movie.

Just thought I'd share the story here and see if anyone else is doing similar things.

Nope, he just knows how much I love it :D He thinks it's a good show and all (I made him watch all the eps) but he wasn't going to let me drag the whole class on a field trip.

I am a distance student at SNL (DePaul's online program) and taking an independent study class called Fictional Worlds and Their Creators. One half (they do credits weird there) of my work is Firefly/Serenity and the other is Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan saga. I'm going to compare the influence of the Cold War/Soviet Union on the books and today's Chinese economic influence on Firefly. So, of course I need to review Serenity to see how/if that continuity has been maintained. :-)

{sigh} I still will have to use personal time to see the movie since my employer doesnt' have the same degree of flexibility.
