WHEDONESQUE

Well, many generous NY/NJ area Browncoats opened their hearts and their wallets to donate to the NE Browncoat Hurricane Relief Fund (Red Cross) at tonight's press screening of Serenity in NYC. As everyone was leaving the theater, they were asked to donate a couple bucks (or whatever change they had in their pocket!) to help those suffering in the South. And boy did they! We raised $150.10 in about 20 minutes after the show. That's pretty impressive, I think. :D

And many people paused to tell me that they were helping out the hurricane victims in other ways, too. Some Browncoats had signed up to house those made homeless in their own residences. Some Browncoats had chosen to donate to particular charities already. And some Browncoats had made their donations through their employer's matching funds donation programs (if you don't know if your employer has a program like this, it might be a good idea to ask). To all the Browncoats who have donated to the cause, whether through our little collection tonight or via other routes, I want to say thanks. Browncoats are a quality group of people and I'm proud to be a part of this community.

The donation to the Red Cross has already been made via the New England Browncoats Hurricane Relief Fund (I rounded up the last $0.10) and you can view it here: http://www.justgiving.com/pfp/pages/default.asp?pid=44344

Thanks again to all that donated!
Keep flying,
Kathleen
