Had a look at the website for my local cinema (Vue in Reading) and Serenity isn't on the coming soon list (films coming out the following week are.)

The nearest cinema showing Serenity is Bracknell (at UCI), a 20 minute train ride away.

This seems ridiculous to me, Reading is bigger and more well known than Bracknell. The Vue is famous for showing really awful mainstream Hollywood movies, but I had faith in them to show the BDM!

Is anyone else having this problem? How is it supposed to do well if people have to seek out the movie and travel miles to go and see it??

To add fuel to my big angry fire, a film called "Kinky Boots" replaces Serenity on the 7/10/05 release spot

"Kinky Boots" is replacing it!

Maybe its The Operative getting his revenge on Mal after all!!

I've checked the Cineworld site and they don't have Serenity listed either - but there Coming Soon section only goes to 23rd September. So there's time yet. It isgoing out on general release so I would imagine that most major cinemas will be showing it. Why don't you contact your cinema and ask if they will be showing it, and if they say no - ask them why and persuade them that they should.

Vue doesn't seem to be showing it for any of its cinemas at the moment (my nearest in Staines), so I wouldn't worry.

It's well covered on UCI's website, so I imagine VUE is just a bit behind. I find it hard to believe they won't be showing it.

I realised that they sucked when they showed some movie about stereotypical black people running a hair salon in a "crazy comedy" instead of the Machinist.

odeon aren't listing it yet either, but showcase are and bluewater even has an advance screening on the 20th, yay :)

I'm sure they're just being slack about it and it'll pop up soon...

Just checked the listings for this week (10/10/05) in reading, and serenity is showing at both Vue ( www.myvue.com ) and showcase ( http://www.showcasecinemas.co.uk/php-bin/frameme.php?page=/films/seren
