Somone brought this up on another thread and there were a few comments about these games. I was wondering who else besides me loves those games? Which one is your favorite? Favorite line? Favorite puzzle? Favorite character? There must be other Money fanatics out there somewhere!

My picks?
1. I like Curse of Monkey Island the best. I really like old fashioned 2-D animation compared with some of the 3-D stuff these days.

2. "Bring me my bride! And more slaw! They never give you enough slaw!" - Lechuck

3. That clock puzzle in Escape from Monkey Island was a doozie!

4. Guybrush, of course! Murray is up there too.

Monkey Island 2 was the bestest.

Murray! I loved Murray. Well, my son did, and he made me watch all the cutscenes with Murray in them, so it feels like I played the game myself.

MAL "You only gotta scare him."
JAYNE "Pain is scary..."

Definitely Monkey Island 2.
It had the tightest plot, best humour and most interesting mix of locations/characters. While the swashbuckling fun of the original had its merits (what with the memorable swordfighting insults), the interface of the second was by far the best. Most adventure games in any given series lost so much when they went over into 3D, the heydays of SCUMM were just golden!! Plus in hindsight it is still just amazing at how much atmosphere the game can create (whether menace or light humour) with such 'basic graphics'.

And Guybrush never looked better than in his long blue coat, and shaggy beard.

"I'm off on a whole new adventure!"
"Growing a moustache?"
"No, larger."
"A beard?"

-
"There's a sort of evil out there. Something strange in the hills. It takes different forms, but it's been there for as long as anyone can remember. And we've always been here to fight it."

Bit part of my childhood, love monkey island

1. Curse of Monkey Island, agree the 3D made the game more fiddely. LOVED and now miss the text interface

2. "How much wood would a wood chuck chuck" - cant remeber the charactor (anyone?)

3. Spitting in the wind duel (was a proud day when solved it...)

4. Guybrush, LeChuck.

I love monkey island!

I think 3 was the best. To me it had the best jokes.

The rhyming duels were hilarious.
